What these dumbasses fail to realize is that putting a good football product on the field is one of the best things for university and the state.
This when LSU is winning its good for the school. King Cuck doesn't like athletics so he fails to see how it improves the overall brand value. He also can't make tough decisions like which departments need to get funds vs who should be cut so he goes all nuke option on the budget stuff.

Les Miles gets an emotional response from the team and fans at the aTm game that many thought would be Les's last game.

I was at that game.
That "emotional response" from fans was everyone wishing Les Miles a farewell, appreciating everything he had done...not LSU fans urging the administration to keep him. That is something that has been thrown out and is just not true for the majority of fans there.

Jindal stepped into the coaching situation and put pressure on F. King to nix the deal.

If there has ever been a worse governor of any state in history than Bobby Jindal, I'm glad I don't live in that state. Marion Barry was a better mayor (DC's version of governor) than Jindal was a governor.

Joe Alleva and TAF boosters make a push to fire miles. The most substantial rumor is that Jimbo was ready to make the move from FSU to LSU after the 2015 season.

You're missing the most important part:

Joe leaked it to the press to gauge public reaction, which to me proved that he was completely unfit to lead an athletic department of an SEC school.

This is the biggest mistake he made and it continues to hurt our reputation. We may be excited for the future but it's absolutely understandable how national media is reacting to this. How could anybody be surprised? When UGA fired Richt, they didn't flip flop and fight some sort of tug of war in the school admin, letting it all leak out into the public. They quietly squeezed the trigger - LIKE A MAJOR UNIVERSITY ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT IS SUPPOSED TO DO.

It's some bush league bullshite from a big school and isn't at all surprising how everyone is reacting to it. What did y'all think was going to happen?

I hate Joe and bash the man all the time, i do think he is in over his head but his plan to fire miles seems to have worked very well this time. He had it prepared and we executed it this time.

I think Joe leaked shite, but with the firing of the michigan guy that worked in football ops, I'm wondering if that guy was the actual leak. Its just random to fire les, have O fire cam and then we just fire a random ops guy.

I just don't understand the negative perception of the buyout. Why can't LSU come out with a statement that any buyout comes from private funds and does not impact the budget?

What the Athletic Department should be doing every day between now and the end of the world is promoting the idea that the Athletic Department and the TAF have nothing to do with the state or university budget. That way, if this ever comes up again it will already be in the public domain and politics will not queer the deal.

JBE threatened to cut the budget by whatever TAF paid to fire Miles and his staff.

Link?

Is there solid evidence that Jimbo wanted $7 million a year? If so, that's reason enough to nix the deal. He's not worth that.

Because in this day and age, people would complain "even though that's privately funded and not our money, they should give it to the school instead"

Ya know, entitlement shite

That makes total sense however Jindal and F. King apparently thought they did not have the political capital to fight that battle when Jindal and the state legislature was making budget cuts all over the state.

Timing with the sessions was terrible. You also have to remember about 85% of those in the legislature are either morons, or pander solely to their district and don't care about the protection of the Flagship University.

I am disappointed in Jindal as anybody, but he was a lame duck governor. If he meddled in it, it was on Mile's behalf as a friend and a contributor to his campaign. King would be fighting the budget fight with JBE.

I believe King and JBE came up with the dire budget, no football, LSU is bankrupt etc. Jindal always believed that LSU and the Higher Ed budget is bloated, which it is. LSU get the lion's share of the cuts because they get the lion's share of the funds. This didn't fit Jindal's narrative about cutting taxes.

Anyone who thinks JBE didn't have a hand in the lack of the LA people understanding that Les's money didn't come from taxes is delusional. There was an alternate narrative that JBE was involved and his antics during the session prove that. If he wasn't the catalyst, he was a willing participant.

This is new info to me and it doesn't paint Alleva in a positive light.

Were they really?

I bet they were singing a different tune last year and probably said we were crazy for considering firing Miles.

Absolutely not correct, Alleva had the greenlight and the money and didnt need to gauge anything. The truth about how far the program had gotten off the road is coming.
