Jeremy Hill told me personally last night that he is good to go for the opener!!! TFWIW!

Wait what? How legit is this?
You expect to just throw this nugget out ad disappear? How is this not a thread if it's own? If true, that's huge.

I just hope we don't have open lanes. If A&M gets open lanes they almost cant be stopped. We would have to just outscore them.

Thankfully we have a bye week before them. That will give Chief plenty of time to look at the film from last year, compare that to what aTm is using this year, and see if he can still use that 3 down lineman look that worked so well last year. I have a feeling well see a lot of that. LBs will be key in not letting him run free IMO. The young DEs just need to hold their ground, not try and bull rush every snap, and let JM make the mistakes and make him pay when you get shots on him.

If you watch the first half of that game, you really wonder how we were able to win it
Evidently you didn't the entire half because LSU won it 14-12 in about 5 minutes after aTm finished her 25 minutes of stumblin, bumblin and fumblin.
Aggie couldn't beat LSU in it's own yard with it's best team in years, and a lesser group surely won't do well at Mike's house this year.
Too much ESPiN watching going on.

What worries me is that LSU had the baddest fastest DL maybe ever last year.
That's a very large maybe.
I can think of a couple in the last 5 years that outperformed.

Im good friends with his cousin(we played ball together at Texas Southern) that got married last night and he personally told me he is good to go.

Brett I didn't want to cause a big commotion with its own thread.

Having Hill from day one certainly bolsters our offense from day one. With Cam at OC and the nucleus of our offense back:

Mett, Hill, Beckham, Landry, Collins, Turner, Alexander, we can only go up. Also add in new faces(on the field) Leslie, Dural, and Brazil who all have 4.4ish speed or below and Blue, Hilliard in the backfield.

The fall can't get here fast enough.

Mayhaw - good point - but when they wanted to play hard that was a strong and FAST group. Some groups, IF they were better overall may not have been as fast. That D was perfect to stop JFF.

A good scouting game to watch is OU. I know I know OU sucks. But - They dismantled the Horns who decimated Ole Miss. OU had some talent on that team and JFF made them look like a highschool JV practice squad.

If LSU reloads like I said I think we are fine. But A&M will also be adjusting. More runs etc.. to keep teams off balance. I think we will know quickly how the game will play out.

Similar to Bama game - I think we will know quick how that game plays. If Bama and LSU grind 7 yds off tackle first play. I dont think A&M will ever stop them.

But on the other side. If JFF hits a couple then scoots for 17. I dont think that changes either.

Summation: We dont know shite yet. Too many variables.

Also A&M loses Swope - who was smart as crap and always knew where JFF needed him to be in scrambles. A&M has recievers for days - but they need a Swope.

LSU DL didn't all of a sudden start playing faster in the 2nd qtr, it was corrections by Chief.
Beating JFF is more about playing your gap smart. He beat a lot of quick DLs that got upfield and left him seams.
IMO he has to be contained to bring out the mediocre INT thrower in him.

I think he'll get his yards here and there, but not enough to get ove 20pts.

I liken aTmm to WVU, absorb a few early jabs and they wilt from LSU body blows.
LSU shouldn't have conceded that clock TD with a couple minutes left because he's got yall thinking LSU was only 5pts better.

It really doesn't matter if a&m's offense is better than LSU's or that LSU's defense is better than a&m's. Those units don't go against each other.

The matchups are

LSU's "O" will be better than a&m's "D".

aggies just lost too much talent on that side the ball.

Chief showed last year he can put together a gameplan to slowdown and confuse manziel.

LSU's LBs and DBs played a major role in it's win. Tigers return ten players of 13, in the back eight that saw quality snaps in that game. Plus, two more LBs that would have played but, missed that game due to suspension or injury.

LSU's "D" is at least = to a&m offense.

aggies will win some of the battles and score points but, LSU's defense will win more often and slow down aggies enought to get the tigers the "W".

This is huge. Tahj Jones and Kwon have the ability to play contain sideline to sideline. Ego and Freak played a lot in the game. So did Rasco. All the DE's need to do is play contain. Which is more about patience and intelligence over ability.

I'm confident that out of all the returning players and incoming recruits on the D-Line. We should be more than capable of fielding a solid 8 man rotation of linemen.

Anything can happen...injuries, defensive breakdowns, coaching mishaps. Always expect the unexpected.
None of those things are UNEXPECTED. It's just a matter of WHEN, not IF.

I just hope to God, Cam Cameron can solve all of the offensive "Coaching Mishaps." Please Les, just back off and let the man do the job you're paying him to do.

Not worried about LB or DL coaching mishaps, but have severe concern about more chaos in the secondary. Not convinced that we have the right person coaching back there. Didn't like what I saw last season from an X + O "In-game adjustment" point of view.

All those cheerleader types that think we can't possibly lose at home, just go back and look at the Alabama and Ole Miss games again from 2012.

We all know what happened for "58-2" against the Red Devils and it took a fricking punt return from OBJ to finally subdue Ole Miss.

That qb is going to end up being a cancer. His head is so huge. Wait till he has to do it with a rebuilt line.

He's going to have a major sophomore slump.

TAMU is a gimmick offense and a good defense with a week of planning can take it down. What I think they do is utilize their running backs more either before Manziel looks human or when he struggles in a game. I can see two losses but that's it because other than LSU & Bama, their schedule is a joke.

Top to bottom LSU has more talent than A&M does. Texas A&M has by far the best player in JFF. I think injuries will take their toll on A&M throughout the season. Game is at LSU and we win by 10 points. I think the early Vegas odds have LSU as the favorite now by 3 points. We will see what happens this season.

Unfortunately I have a feeling Bama will beat them by +21 points. To much talent.

I will still pull for Texas A&M though. I can't pull for Bama ever. Just to much hate there.
