I cannot believe that Gary Danielson is campaigningfor a split NC should LSU go undefeated and plays Alabama. That was followed with Finebaum saying- I don't understand that philosophy, why would you believe that LSU would want to celebrate an AP #1 ranking, right after Alabama just finished beating them. I know that we still have the hogs and its not going to be easy to beat them. I really liked Danielson- but that is Bull Chit. LSU beats bama twice- how the heck can you call for a split NC. I did not misunderstand what was said. That rectum mushmouth started that chit during the 2003 NCG

Gary Danielson is vehemently opposed to seeing a rematch in the BCSCG.

Shut yo whore mouth. Danielson's eagle eyes & insight is unparalleled, though I do like Blackledge a lot.

Finebaum is a complete tool.

Right after Danielson, he had one of his "Bama" callers on. This prophylactic poster child was going on and on about "West Georgia Water Boys" and the "noo-vo reach" (his pronunciation) LSU and Florida fans who have "no history, no tradition".

A. This Gumptard's entitled attitude is exactly the reason fans of other schools can't stand them.
B. Finebaum let him go on for several minutes - but he dumps callers from other schools with high regularity and without compunction.

LSU losing at Bama would have a better argument for a rematch since it occured off their home field. But Bama losing at home kinda flushed their chance away. The biggest problem for voters is the other teams out there don't look like they don't even deserve a single shot. OK 2loss, Okie State suspect after first loss (and may lose again to OK), VT horrible SOS.

Whoever wins the BCS is national champion, and the AP Poll is meaningless!!! End of discussion!!!

I didn't actually hear this, but it seems obvious that he's referring to a scenario in which Bama wins the rematch. I agree that there should be a split title scenario if both teams finish with one loss

this. i think danielson is the best in the business. he's the tim mccarver of college football. extremely knowlegdable.

One quick comment, then I'll take my arse back to the SEC Rant where it belongs.

If CBS had the rights to the BCSNCG, I don't believe Gary would be campaigning against a rematch.

I honestly wonder if he just doesn't want another network to broadcast Gamepocalypse II because it will have higher ratings than the first one.

Of course opinions are divided, but I had an Auburn fan tell me today "Why are all these idiot sportswriters saying nobody wants a rematch? Almost everyone outside of Okie St. and Stanford wants to see it."

I know it's not popular opinion here, but it kinda surprised me when he said it.

If Bama gets another shot, I'd be ecstatic. But if not, we lost on Nov 5, so we can only blame ourselves.

We'd love to beat Bama twice. As Les said, we'd be honored.

Problem is, we've already beaten Bama IN TUSCALOOSA.
Been there, done that.

OTOH maybe we should play until Bama finally wins one, then immediately declare Bama the Champion?

So Danielson's thoughts are relegated to whether CBS has the rights for the BSCCG?

Yet, CBS doesn't? Which would infer his thought is objective? (regardless if you agree with his thoughts or not).

Or since CBS isn't broadcating the BCSCG, it's Gary's job to not want ratings for the other station?

Either way, really?

Hell, it ain't our fault that all these other teams keep losing. There will be some who will vote anybody else in to avoid a rematch. And there will be some who will say Bama's the 2nd best and give Bama a vote.

I can see where LSU fans would be upset, but if OU beats Okie St, there just aren't really any other viable options.

I just thought it was refreshing to hear one of Bama's bitter rivals say he was all for the rematch.

ETA - oh yeah, sorry, I'll go back to the SECRant now. This is y'all's board.

You haven't read the board enough.

The real important thing is your delusion. UAT will claim another NC after losing to LSU, AU and whomever you play in the Cotton Bowl.

That may well be the bottomline!
It certainly speaks to the unfairness of disqualification based solely on winning a Conference, when other Conference winners might have far poorer overall resumes when compared side-by-side with the SEC's 2nd place team.

But if LSU remains undefeated, I think the voters will allow a one-loss OSU to bump Bama
