Two questions.

What time (mid-evening) are you referring to.

Do you think that Miles wanted to play a game on Sunday?

I've read that only Florida/Idaho. The other games that could not be played as scheduled were either played later in the day, the next day, or rescheduled on open dates that matched up. The article says it's rare that games are not played at all.

I'll give you 3 guesses as to why this is such a stupid idea. I'll hang up and listen.

It always seems like LSU is the poster child for some dumbass rule that's never called on anyone else: see the punter taunting and the 'over the back' blocked field goal.

Without a doubt, LSU leads the nation in "shite called that never gets called again."

i don't know of any games being rescheduled with a days notice

Outside Katrina which was a bigger deal, with more warning

generally things don't get canceled, and when they do they don't get played the next day.

A contingency for something that has never happened in LSU football history. K.

That's what a contingency plan is.

If you're paid 6 figures to run a multi-million dollar operation, one of your job requirements generally is a contingency plan.

Playing this game on Sunday would have been a logistical nightmare. Most athletic departments do have contingency plans for this, but it would have been difficult to run on less than 24 hour notice on a holiday weekend. This is not a baseball series where you can just play a double header the following day. Neither coach wanted to play this game on Sunday or our bye week. McNeese still walks out with a nice paycheck and we walk out without any injuries. Get over it and start worrying about beating State.

Illinois/Kent St game was cancelled Friday because of lightning.

They played Saturday with no TV.

Illinois and Kent State aren't playing at Mississippi State Saturday either.

As others have said, Florida had their opener canceled.

Its not a witch hunt against LSU, people. Get over it. I have every right to be as pissed as any of you, being I was in the stadium until it was called.

Just give it up

Having a long flight back to idaho is completely different than having a 2 hour bus ride to lake charles. Travel is bot an excuse.

And for the people actling like we couldnt play sunday because we play miss st saturday. The state game is at 8:15 saturday night. The team would have plenty time to "recover" from playing mcneese.

And if one of our stars would have gotten injured playing yesterday, everyone would be here complaining about playing this game. Get over it, the game isn't being played.

Why not? It may not have happened to LSU before until this past Saturday night but as AD you just witnessed it happen to Florida last year...

Seems as AD you would pro-active and have a plan in place so you would not have the same thing happen to you...

How would YOU have handled it?
Do you even understand what a contingency plan is?
What would YOUR contingency plan have been?

I love LSU fans. Both the ones with the balls to play in a lightning storm and the ones with the brains not to.

I remember Colin Cowherd saying he was in Tiger Stadium when lightning struck close by and the crowd just cheered. He Says he remembers thinking "These people are different"

This. Ridiculous without even having a clue what McNeese had to say about it, what the SEC had to say about it. It's not purely Alleva's decision. That said, even if it was, IMO the right decision was made.
Bunch of selfish entitled bishes whining over something just because there wasn't enough football played for them to have something to bitch about regarding the game.
Except Jazz's whiffed block.
