How many college football games were cancelled last year due to weather?

As for this year I know the ULM game was called early..but was there any other game cancelled this weekend?

It always seems like LSU is the poster child for some dumbass rule that's never called on anyone else: see the punter taunting and the 'over the back' blocked field goal.

Florida had a game canceled last year. It's not that uncommon

Eta: and their AD still paid Idaho 975,000

Our AD did a shitty job. No contingency plan to get this game in on Sunday. This clown should be fired.

As others have said, Florida had their opener canceled.

Its not a witch hunt against LSU, people. Get over it. I have every right to be as pissed as any of you, being I was in the stadium until it was called.

Just give it up

A contingency for something that has never happened in LSU football history. K.

You are an idiot. Our AD paid $500,000 (and cost the department much more) for a tune up that did not occur because he was too incompetent to have a contingency plan and implement it timely. With an opponent a short bus ride away, an open Sunday, and lightning in the forecast for hours , any AD worth a shite should have called the game by mid evening and set a Sunday pm restart. He should be publicly reprimanded and given notice his arse is on the hot seat, at a damn minimum.

LSU made money, they aren't giving refunds. Hell the concession stand was out of sausage poboys before the first snap.

I think we remember Gustav differently, as I don't recall sitting in stadium and then 5 minutes into the first quarter Dan getting on the mic and asking everyone to leave because of weather.

Maybe I'm mistaken...

As usual, LSU fans can;t be happy. Had the AD decided to move the game a few days out (for no reason, since no one had any clue this was coming), there would have been a shitstorm regardless of whether or not the weather came through.

Those with travel plans would have been outraged and demanded satisfaction.

Those that didn't travel but could not attend the makeup date would have been outraged.

And heaven for-fricking-bid they'd have moved the game and no weather event had come through...or worse yet, an LSU player would have gotten injured on the make-up day, regardless of whether or not the new day played any part...or LSU went on to play sluggishly at State and that could be laid at the feet of moving the Mcneese game!

Honestly...LSU would be better served telling fans to get fricked rather than taking the time to explain anything, as no explanation will ever suffice.

The game could have been played. There should have been a contingency. He did a shitty job. End of story.

I don't blame Alleva. if this game meant something, it would have been played.

But his excuse this morning was lame. he said we'd have less time to prepare for sec opener and that would put us at a disadvantage.

I would rather our team get their Sunday rest day and start preparing for a conference game that matters than to play mc wear on a Sunday and lose a day of preparation for a game that matters.

Knowing Gustav was coming 2 days in advance says "hi" .. Not a decision made on the fly ..

This I agree with. Not that he was wrong, but that of the myriad of reasons for why playing this game as a makeup a day or two after was completely impossible, trash was about #83 on the list. He'd have been better not even bothering to explain WHY, because if someone actually needs it to be spelled out for them, they're likely not going to accept the rational reason he gives.

Football isn't a weekend baseball series where we'll just pay two the next day... The logistics of playing a college football game in the nation's 5th largest stadium the day or two after trying to go and having to abandon it due to weather is almost laughably impossible to consider. Best case scenario to get this game in, if we REALLY wanted to make it up somehow, would be to slap it into our off week assuming Mcneese could make it work.

Show of hands...who wants to give up the off week prior to going to BAMA?

Me either...

Monday of the first SEC road game, and we're mad about not getting to play McNeese. Amazing...
