The "Kill Howard" White Hooptie rolling on Nicholson still gives me Nightmares!!--Fall of 94 was Beast!!--It's best for him to move on--As a Father--Was a very dumb move for him to attend LSU from the beginning.

36 career starts from 92-95
49.1% passing completion .... 34 TD's / 47 INT's .... -148 rushing yds.
will forever be known for his performance in 1994 vs. Auburn.
LSU was controlling the game and winning 20-9 with 13 minutes left in the 4Q then went into SELF DESTRUCT mode.
LSU's final 6 possessions which are mind-boggling
Interception, returned by Auburn’s Ken Alvis for a touchdown - pick 6
Interception, returned by Auburn’s Fred Smith for a touchdown - pick 6
Field goal
Interception, returned by Auburn’s Brian Robinson for a touchdown - pick 6
Interception
Interception
Auburn ran 6 offensive plays (two 3-and-outs) in the 4th Q for 0 yards, yet they still overcame a 14-point deficit.
Auburn went 0-for-8 on third downs after the first quarter.
Auburn had only one first down after the second quarter.
Auburn had 16 total yds in the 2nd half

He has one of the worst losses in LSU history so there's that for LSU fans.

what really makes me wonder is why he wasn't yanked, word on the street at the time is he was ad libbing, everyone thought he must have had $ on the game

leading 20-6 (14 pts) in the 4th Quarter, LSU passed 17 times, and ran the ball 10 times.
Howard was NEVER pressured or hurried on any of his FIVE 4thQ INT's, and NONE of the INT's were tipped by LSU players. He threw into double and triple coverage and balls were tipped by AUB defenders.
Auburn rushed four on the first four interceptions, and Howard had a clean pocket on all four of them. Even when Auburn sent a blitz on the final interception, LSU picked it up. These were just classic examples of poor throws and poor decisions.

He had a very strong arm. Hard to judge him with the clownshown that was the coaching staff his first three years. Played well his Sr. year under Dinardo and Morris Watts. Also played baseball during the summer for the Braves which probably didn't help his development. He was a talented guy.
This is the best synopsis.

To be fair, we had one of the worst coaches in college football in the past 50 years at the time.

I was at LSU during his time. That dude experienced more hate and vitriol than anyone should have to endure. To his credit he came back and had a pretty solid senior season.

Jamie played too early and never recovered. I believe he had the talent and in a different world could have been successful if he had not played as early as he did. Just my opinion.

where else was he going to go?

Nuss reminds me more of Jaimie than does J Lee.
Both have great arms, tremendous talent, but both make stupid decisions throwing the football..

He was an average to slightly above average college QB.
Based on the last 24 hours, I would also say he was a below average father for letting his son make such a foolish and impulsive decision.

Richard Condon was right all those years ago.

got hurt somewhere around mid season and Herb Tyler took over.
to the fanbase's credit, Jamie did get a pretty decent cheer from the crowd on Senior Day that year.

Good news is we don’t have to endure more Howard pick 6 with junior leaving.

quote:We could've taken a knee 3x and punt every series and won the game I believe. Nevermind running the ball like a non-moron coach would do.
But the most memorable thing was his 94 AU burn game.
