His fielding and arm are 100% MLB worthy though.

Fielding, yes. Arm, meh. He will be drafted high because some team may think he can be a ss.

He is 100% 2b.

He definitely has MLB bat speed, but his swing is awkward and his approach fricking sucks. He isn't patient. He can either alter his approach and have a career similar to Todd Walker, or he can remain the same and have a career similar to Mike Fontenot.

Yea I don't think he'll ever be a prototypical power hitter crushing 40-50 hrs in a year

40-50 HRs is beyond a prototypical power hitter, and is top 5 in the league.

40-50 HR would have led the league the past few years by a decent margin.

20 HR is a power hitter these days. This isn't the 90s anymore where 20 HRs are expected from everyone except the 8 hole and pitcher.

I would think his absolute ceiling in terms of power would be Biggio. I don't think he could hit 26 like Biggio did once, but I do think he could be a 10-20 type guy.

We've seen two players top 50 in recent years Davis-53 in 2013, and Bautista-54 in 2010. With a handfull 40 since 2010 (Puljos, Granderson, Cabrera, Hamilton, Braun, Dunn, Encarnacion.

Cruz led the league last year with 40. But I agree for the most part the days of seeing over 50 are likely behind us due to the crackdown on PEDs.

How long do y'all think it'll be before he breaks through to an mlb roster? If he is moved to second as some ML scouts suggest, it could take him longer, depending on circumstances; team needs etc. Reason being, offensive production and hitting aptitude are typically more of a necessity for 2nd basemen as compared to great shortstops. My guess is he'll get to the Big Leagues for good no later than his 3rd year out of LSU(during 2018 season) and possibly a lot sooner.
Will he ever start? Sorry, had to laugh at that one. This kid is a tireless worker and will succeed at the highest level barring something unforeseen physically. 10-15 year starter is my prediction.
How many homers per year if so? Obviously a lot of factors on where the numbers will wind up, however I believe that by his prime years (27-32) in the Bigs, AB could be slapping out around 20-25 Big Flies per season, depending a lot on his home ball park.

problem with middle infielders is the competition from the latin American players
Bregman probably best profiles to 2B and his bat will play in professional baseball, he will probably hit better with wood

A few weeks after the season began Bregman had several tough games. The comments on this board were very negative. That has stopped since his production has increased. Baseball is a long season which means ups and downs in the sport. I am disappointed that LSU fans did not give him a chance to get started.

Ever here of a slump? All ballplayers go through it. Bregman broke from the slump and shut them up! Nicely done.

What's the reasoning behind people saying he won't play SS at the major league level?

Regurgitating an online article from 3 years ago that quoted a scout most likely.

Let me splain it to you. Bregman sits on fastballs A LOT. Now, like someone posted earlier, guessing is part of batting. But I think Bregman lives off it more than most, and it won't work so well when he starts seeing pitchers with command of more than two pitches.

Agreed I think he gets to the highest level of minors and stays there for awhile.

I don't remember anyone being overly negative towards Bregs.

Now some people were advocating in a move down in the lineup which wasn't unwarranted and even they were flamed relentlessly for it.

to keep this LSU- his swing looks like he could reasonably fit between say LeMahieu & Hill.

Hill being the high end with more power.

So by your own comments you are saying you're smarter than some mlb team's scouts and front office? Just you all by yourself can do a better job than an office of ppl paid millions to do this very thing for a living... OK...

I couldn't disagree more. Anyone who leads the nation as the hardest player in D1 to strike out is not a guess hitter. Guess hitters are notorious for striking out (see Gary Shefield)..JaCoby Jones was a guess hitter and struck out too many times. The thing is he stays back and dares the pitcher to throw him a fastball and when they do he usually squares it up and hits it hard. Yes he is mostly a fast ball hitter and rarely swings at off-speed. But every at-bat the pitcher will throw 1 or 2 fastballs and they usually pay for it. He has very fast hips and hands and recognizes fast balls quickly. But he's definitely not a guess hitter. Far from it.

If you've played at any level of competitive baseball then everyone is a guess hitter to some degree. It's a part of hitting. Simply decided that you won't swing at a certain pitch requires some thought to it before the pitch is even delivered. Now to what extent is a different story. I somewhat agree with your statement though he isn't as bad as some ppl here are making him out to be.
