Not trying to be difficult at all, but I dont see any chance of Alex Bregman ever getting in the vicinity of 25 homeruns in the major leagues.

bregs is far from the end of his development, he could develop into a big power hitter in his career, he is a great hitter could very easily develop into a power hitter if he decides to focus on this.

power will tick down a notch when he switches to wood. He really doesnt have a power swing, more of a line drive plane

I agree with this completely. There is nothing wrong with this either. Nothing wrong with being a serviceable major league hitter that hits 10 homeruns.

Dustin Pedroia

This is what he projects as to me and MLB.com.

He is the no. 12 player in this draft class according to MLB.com LINK

I meant an MLB cleanup kind of hitter.

I don't think anyone has ever projected him with that kind of power.

I agree. I don't see Bregman having much of a MLB career. He's a guess-hitter, and that won't work at that level. But he has great hand-eye coordination and excellent bat speed, so if he starts reading what's pitched he could be effective.

Actually I've noticed that he's going deeper into counts as 2015 wears on.

A guess hitter? He has only struck out 4-5 times this season. Thats incredible guessing.

He's almost the exact player as: Gordon Beckham. So just look at those numbers, and that's the ballpark that Alex will be in.

.245 / 13

Bregman is an incredibly tough out.

He gonna have a long career there.

Bregman will have a solid career in the MLB. Most likely at 2B but will be highly evaluated at SS. As for numbers, 12-15 HR's but will be a gap to gap hitter using all sides of the field. Squares the ball up very well forcing a tough out for pitchers.

I wouldn't be surprised if the stays at shortstop. He has been great in the field at LSU and I don't see any reason he would unable to play short at the next level

Do you realize most MLB'ers are guess hitters as well? It's a part of hitting.

You're right. It's been almost freakish so far this year. I don't have any stats to back this up, but it seems like Bregman used to swing at the first pitch most of the time. He rarely saw more than three pitches. The last three weeks or so, I see him working the count more.

I was listening to Big Ben a few weeks back and Charlie was asking him how Bregs translates into the MLB. He said that middle infielders that can hit and hit with power and have above average speed and can run are rare.

If anyone would keep their power moving from BBCOR to wood it would be Bregman. He seems to barrel up the ball on the sweet spot more than anyone and research has shown that the sweet spot of BBCOR and wood has same performance.

I think Bregman could be a power hitting 2B. Not 30HRs power but definitely 15 type player.
