Honey Badger Quote

a stream of confidence

A writing, speaking or thinking style with the narrative reflecting endless optimism to the point of extreme cockiness but stopping short of bragging. This due of course to the fact that if you can do it, it's not bragging!

Don't give me the crap he wasn't ready. he had some time of college and juco.

I don't think it was a "ready" issue. I've heard from multiple sources that he didn't come in with the work ethic necessary to win the job. In addition, he apparently had academic work to do over the summer to stay eligible. Miles stated on the TAF tour, "I'm a little mad at him right now" (paraphrasing). Who knows all the factors, the only thing I really care about is it's a new season and Geaux Tigers!!!

I've also heard the same things about Metts work ethic not being up to par upon arrival. Like you said its a new season and it looks like he has the right attitude and leadership abilities to lead this team. We knew all along he had the tangibles to play QB, and I for one am very pumped up about this season. Is it August yet?

Two words. STAY HEALTHY. If he goes down we won't win a championship.

First five quarters maybe.

With the distinct possibility that at any moment Miles will have a flashback to the NC abomination, go brain dead and insert the "Running QB" in for a little Option Football.

I was pretty pleased with the way Lee played last year.

I would say I agee with most of the posts here about Mett playing in 2011, however has MILES ever made totally good decisions as to who plays and who doesn't to give LSU the best chance to win both today and tomorrow. So many good ones sit on the bench when better talent could have been the difference maker.

I actually can't even believe that someone is still using the miles doesn't play young players card. That myth has been obliterated.

Miles didn't play the best QB last year and it had everything to do with the fact the two incumbents were Sr's. You can pretend it didn't happen all you want, but it it did. This year, we don't have to worry about it.

I think that had more to do with Mett being not ready to be a team leader. As people noted before, grades, maturity, work ethic, etc.

Yes, of course. That's the only possible explanation and the only possible factor. The fact that starting the two SRs got us to 13-0, an SEC Championship and a unanimous #1 ranking for 10 weeks straight could not possibly have played any role in his decision making.

Yes, every Saturday morning, Miles just looked at the roster to find a SR to start at QB. Of course it's pure coincidence that the two guys that started every game were even QBs, since Miles would have been just as likely to start any other SR on the roster at QB (you know, since seniortiy was the ONLY factor ).
