Hawaii had that chip on their shoulder too. In the end, the team that makes the fewest mistakes will probably win the game.

LSU is stronger, faster, and just better. I'd be surprised if LSU doesn't win by at least 14.

xiv, I have noticed that you seem to be one of the more level headed posters on here. I will admit I am completely biased most of the time, but you seem to keep it real.

Let's not forget, it was Herbie who got caught trying to advance his career at the expense of LSU's gameday preparation for the SECCG with, to put it kindly, a reckless disregard for the truth.

Thanks, chad. And thanks to my algebra teacher, who always told me to show my work. We can all reference a game here and a game there to prove just about anything, but if you're gonna use stats, make them comprehensive!

For example: USC should not be in the NC game. Why? Because they lost to Stanford? NO! That's just one game. The reason they should not be in the NC game is because their schedule is weaker (opponents went .459 vs FBS--weak for a Pac-10 school!).

Did you not see the Florida Michigan Game?

Just to let you know, Michigan dominated.

I wouldnt say dominition is winning by a TD.. But of course OSU thinks they dominated Michigan.. UM ws playing for thier coach Florida nothing. I do think Florida is definitly a better team.. OSU lost to Illinois does that mean Illinois is better?? I dont think so.

Are you saying Stanford is better than USC or Illinois is better than OSU?

Well I still think you guys will win, but I think it will be a REALLY close game. This being one of the reasons of that.

And Hawaii sucks and could be beaten by 2-3 teams in any major conference.

I agree about the mistakes. It will probably come down to turnovers because from what I've seen, LSU will lose the penalty battle handily.

Did Herbstreit also confirm that Miles will accept the Michigan HC job next Tuesday after the game?

You do realize the game is in the Dome, and LSU will pay the refs?

Good point. That puts a chink in 1/4 of the armor of the point I made, though.

Also, conditioning likely will favor LSU. After Florida jumped on OSU last year, the 'eyes were sucking air in the second half and couldn't get back into the game mostly, in my opinion, because they were tired and Florida was fresh. The same thing happened with LSU and Notre Dame. The Irish were just plum tired in the 2nd half. LSU wasn't.

LSU '07 and UF '07 are similar in this respect. I expect LSU to outlast the Buckeyes.

Yea altitude adjustment will get them.. It will take the Buckeyes a long time to acclimate to the -50 feet climate..

Maybe, but don't count on it. There won't be any crooked SEC refs in this game. There may be crooked Big XII refs, but I have no reason to expect that, and even if they are, they can't possibly be as bad, and as biased against LSU, as the ones we see every week in the SEC.

SEC refs don't just call more penalties on us, but they also call fewer on our opponents. More than half our opponents had their lowest penalty total of the year in their game against us. All had lower than their averages. Going into our NINTH game of the season, NOT ONE SINGLE OFFENSIVE HOLDING PENALTY HAD BEEN ASSESSED AGAINST ANY OF OUR OPPONENTS. Think about that for a minute. In eight games, eight different teams, facing an at least above average pass rush, NEVER COMMITTED ONE SINGLE HOLDING PENALTY? That's impossible.

We may commit more penalties than our opponents do, but with fair officiating, or even anything remotely close to fair officiating, the penalty differential is almost certain to be less than SEC refs regularly deal us.
