You got to pinch yourself and say out of all these colleges in America that we would be gifted two transfers that would go on to be the GOAT's in two sports AT LSU nonetheless is just fantastic. I just look to the sky and say THANK YOU sometimes

What’s amazing about our good fortune is that, even though you may be right, when I clicked on this thread, I was thinking Burrow and Crews.

You can add Pete to the mix. Still has to be considered the greatest college player of all time or very, very near the top. Different era of course but 44 a game has to count for something. Hasn't been done again.

You have to include Crews in there. Just an absolute stud.

I’ll be the party pooper and point out that Oklahoma state had Barry sanders and Pete incaviglia.

You could add Simone Augusta and Armand Duplantis. I’m not sure how Simone Augusta stacked up in the WNBA all time but Duplantis is a living legend. I know it’s not major sports but they’re the best in their field.

I think you could say the GOAT’s could easily be:
Burrow
Skenes
Crews
Simone Augusta
Armand Duplantis
Maybe Pistol Pete

Shaq is a legend but idk if he fits the GOAT status.

If not for one horrible pass Augusta would have had one National title and she will be in the college and WNBA Hall of fames.

People on here are so shortsighted when it comes to separating the individual athletic performance from the team performance.

Of your list the only GOAT on there is Pete. You know why? Pete is the ONLY one on that list to be carried off the court by OPPOSING fans.

Burrow had a great season at QB but as another poster pointed out Barry Sanders did what he did against great competition as a one man show. He is by a mile the best RB and overall offensive football player I’ve ever seen. This is from someone that watched football religiously since the 60’s.

OSU had a great baseball program for many many years. For a guy to hit .500, even in that time, was amazing... I’ll go with Incaviglia.

Simone Augusta is not a GOAT in NCAA Women's Basketball. Cheryl Miller is probably still that. She is the best I ever saw but I am not exactly a die-hard women's basketball fan

Simone Augusta is probably the GOAT LSU Women's Basketball player although Angel Reese may nudge her out when all is said and done. If LSU women's basketball gets back-to-back nattys, that would be a hard legacy to beat.

There is no maybe there. The only guy to come close to his point total needed an extra season in a poor conference with one pay-to-play post-season tournament. Davis played in 144 games with a 3-point shot compared to Maravich playing in 83 games with no 3-point shot.

In addition to holding the points total @ 1387 when there was no 3-point line he also holds the record for PPG and is 10.4 PPG higher than second place Oscar Robertson. Top 5 PPG, not these are also the 5 guys in the top 25 scoring with the fewest games played in the same order except Williams and Bird are flipped.

Pete Maravich 44.2 PPG 83 games
Oscar Robertson 33.8 PPG 88 Games
Elvin Hayes 31.0 PPG 93 Games
Freeman Williams 30.7 PPG 106 Games
Larry Bird 30.3 PPG 94 Games

Honestly Pistol Pete could easily be added to my list. I was going with the Natty's included I guess.

Auburn sure did. Bo Jackson, Charles Barkley and Frank Thomas were all on campus at the same time.

Pistol is still the greatest athlete to ever walk through the door at LSU.

The people who never saw him play in person cannot understand his superior abilities. He was Superman.

I don't believe that you can make a list of "GOATS" without Pistol Pete and Billy Cannon.

THIS

sad how many will easily overlook Pistol Pete and many legions prior to the Pistol.

yet the assembly center is named after him.
