Has there ever been a bigger QB controversy at LSU than this?

The JJ/JL arguments have been running for 3 to 4 years now starting mid-2008. There was a time in late 2008 when it appeared JJ had ended it but mid-2009 onwards the flames were fanned again. And then came 2010 and the battle lines were drawn again.

Not sure if there's ever been a more polarizing QB controversy as this one at LSU. I sure don't remember one.

Back in the Cholly Mac days, there was Ensminger vs. Woodley, but that wasn't to this degree.

There is no controversy. CLM plays who he thinks will give us the best chance at winning.

He's done good so far this season.

I guess I need to get a handle on how "big" do you think this one is.

We're 13-0.

No. he had no choice early in the season. later he did have a choice and jj is his choice, no matter what.

Woodley was more mobile and Ensminger could throw better... Oh by the way we won the SEC and went to the Orange Bowl that year. Not bad.

If this isn't a controversy then I don't know what is.

the only controversy is how certain people pull for a player over a team

I agree. But it still is the biggest debate I've seen as an LSU fan. Maybe debate isn't the right word, mud slinging and player bashing may be better terms to describe it.

We also had Bert Jones and Paul Lyons. I ran into Bert Jones in the BR airport and tried to make a little conversation, and the guy simply said he did not like Cholly Mac because of the 2 qb situation that he played under. My respect for Jones diminished a little after the ranted on about this. He seemed very bitter. Can't blame him but he should have kept it to himself.

Please link where Lee fans have said they would rather see LSU lose with Lee than win with JJ?

See on the Meaux vs. Mett series in the punt, pass and kick competition Mett threw the ball 56 yards. I would think a guy his size could throw 65 yards or more. I bet JJ can. Hell, Brodie Croyle could throw over 56 yards.

You started following the team this year, I'm guessing? Or maybe some time in the past two? (But, hell there were bigger "debates" regarding some of the shite Miles did then, so it has to be this year.)
