Was this guy bitching about the scheme last year with Mett? Wasn't Les the coach then?

m so tired of hearing this. Like Les is doing us some kind of favor.

Someone, anyone, answer a simple question... Whose fault is it that we have no functional QB?

There is one answer, it's very simple, and that's all people are pissed about. It's not Jennings, Harris, etc. fault

Thank you. All anyone is pissed at is the refusal to try anything substantially different in the face of an offense that has been an abject failure. The football equivalent of running in to a brick wall and not addressing the glaring issues.

Before anyone chimes in, we know the issues are not being dealt with because we would see throws to RBs, WR screens and more short routes. We threw multiple passes to FBs (pinnacle of playmaking ability there) so I know they can complete to the HBs Those aren't hard passes to complete and their exclusion from the gameplan means Miles' doesn't give a frick about anything but running it up the middle and not turning the ball over. That will not work unless you have a top ten defense. Which we can't possibly field year in and year out.

hannagrif is a fat idiot. That scheme is the only reason we won. yes lets throw it against the best secondary in the country. Let us not run LF who at one point in the game was averaging over 7 yards a carry.

Cameron is a recruiting tool. Once you're here you get the real offense.

Im chiming in because for 6 weeks i heard, WHy not throw it to the TE? Why not throw it to the FB? why not run LF more? We fricking chipped away at that d throwing to the fricking fb. The gameplan worked, LSU won. You see their offense made huge plays against our week arse defense. Doesnt matter how good we are on o when our di is complete shite. We sustained 14 play 7 minute drives, kept our defense off the field. If we hadnt done that, UF would have scored in the 40s

C'mon man. You say this as if Miles deviated from his normal game plan to avoid playing to the strength of UF. We would have seen what transpired last night in terms of gameplan, no matter the opponent. Just look at MSU game. Weak secondary and awesome front 7 and we spend the majority of the game running kamikaze missions right at their strength.

Problem is, people know we will face a team that doesn't have Jeff Driskel an QB and LSU won't be able to keep up. They will continue this BS gameplan until desperation time. Just like with MSU. Lather, rinse, repeat. It is almost like LSU is guaranteed to spot literally every team points because the offense will stall out.

We won't always have the luxury of chipping away with teams that don't have the Florida offense. They will be too far ahead.

Ill give you an example of why we were lucky this week, but just as easily could be screwed next week.

1st and goal at the florida 3. We come out in a heavy package with NOT A SINGLE WIDE RECIEVER. Run the same play 4 times and eventually get a touchdown, having to risk a 4th down play.

Why do Les and Cam think that having 22 players within 3 yards of the ball offers some kind of advantage?

We tried the same approach against Miss St and got stuffed on 4th down.

The fact that we are somewhat successful when we telegraph our offense to our opponent only infuriates people more because they wonder how successful we could be if we used some deception or smart game plans.

the play calling is horrible and it is difficult to watch. But you gotta understand that we don't have a quarterback that can execute a complex offensive game plan

This +1. I get that our QBs can't execute simple throws and that limits the play calling. But it is squarely on Miles for not being able to find a Develop a Quarterback. Now the problem is systemic.

We saw a bunch of these the first couple of games and they usually ended in lost yards or very minimal gains.

WR screens

Wait...so now we want bubble screens.

Didn't we demand Crowton be fired for running that type of offense?

and Florida had the ball 1st and goal from the 2 and didn't score with multiple receiver packges.

The TE dropped an easy 3rd down touchdown, then they kicked a field goal. They didn't go for it on 4th down and risk leaving without any points.

I don't see the correlation

How bad must Rettig and Rivers have been to transfer before the season? Can either of those guys walk and chew gum at the same time?

If they were out there at practice all last year and this Spring, they should have seen that they were competing against one guy whose ceiling is to be a "game manager" and the other who is a 180lb true freshman. How the hell can you transfer if that is what your competing against?

I wanna know this as well. Rettig must have been putrid if he felt he didn't have a chance. Very telling too, since he was said to have left due to his inability to run as well as Jennings. Really? Not only is AJ a bad runner, he seems terrified to throw the ball.

Please explain to me outside of Florida tonight how successful this strategy has been ALL year and please don't bring up the cream puffs LSU played?

Well being as we fell behind by 17 points against MSU and Auburn we sort of abandoned the strategy didn't we? There is no way we were going to pound the MSU front 7 like we did Florida. It also worked pretty well against Wisconsin as we wore them out in the 2nd half. The strategy is much more effective when your defense keeps you in the game. Baylor scored 61 points and had 39 First downs but were still only still 5-18 on 3rd down and lost time of possession 28:43 to 31:17. I'll bet their fans would trade a few points for a few more 3rd down conversions to keep that defense off the field.
