Don't blame the fan base for Miles' recruiting shortcomings.

They aren't Bama fans. They are people who don't like LSU and want to piss people off. I work with a bunch who don't follow football but act like they love Saban and Bama all of a sudden.

truth.. the UA NOLA alumni association gives a scholarship every year to a local kid.. hundreds show up to the NOLA events.

It's bandwagon....Saban is putting together an unprecedented run that no one would ever expect in today's game. Parity was supposed to be king.

Here in Georgia, the band wagon is epic. One of the FM stations to start this season became a BAMA flagship sports station....in Georgia....

It's people that don't like LSU and want to root against them. I was at Redemptorist in the 90s and people were having a field day rooting against LSU. Whoever was hot at the time, that's who they'd root for. FSU, Florida, Miami, Nebraska, you name it.

I can't imagine anyone LSU alums supporting Bama unless they have deep family ties.

I also don't expect all Louisiana folks to support LSU.

Living in Louisiana does not equal being an LSU fan.

Those are just bandwagon fans that are insecure and have low self-esteem. They constantly change their allegiance to the team that is currently the most successful. It makes them feel better about themselves because when their team is successful it makes them feel successful. They are just trying to fill that empty void in their life of amounting to something.

Yeah but I don't see much purple and gold in Birmingham or Tuscaloosa. It's sad that NOLA, a city 80 miles from Baton Rouge, has such a disdain for LSU.

I agree. But there are thousands, maybe more who you could say the same thing about in regard to LSU. Just look at the location (when provided) of the folks who profess to be LSU fans on this board but are located no where near Louisiana. Notre Dame is famous for these.

"Pop-up for the mop-up"

Prefer to call it "underground fans," or "guerrilla fans," rather than "bandwagon." Lots of Alabama grads, or attendees, or even just ex-residents are in lots of places around the country. They stay underground until the tide rolls... then they pop up for the mop up.

This is not necessarily applicable for the very large alumni group in New Orleans who remain visible and above ground permanently.
