There were quite a few "short" fields where we scored in 2011. The rest of the list looks legit. That year was an unusual one. Without that defense setting up numerous scoring opportunities per game, that offense is 10 points per game less give or take.

Even if you take 2011 out, we will still be saying that Mile had 3 of the top 4 with 3 different OCs by season's end.

current offensive trends and playing 12 regular season games skew these #'s a bit.

Back in the day there would be 10 games and less cupcakes. Still the 2007 and 2013 offenses were impressive. 2006 too once our running game got it together

Or you could say the top 2 scoring offenses in school history got us into two BCSNC games.

2011 had easily one defensive ST touchdown a game for the most part

9 in 14 games...but those were opportunities that were taken away from the offense to score, so that's not a great first-order point

What's impressive about 2011 is that we lost our OC to parkinsons before the season and still rolled with it

people complain about it, but that was a damn good offense for the majority of the year. J Lee was impressively efficient. We blew all but 1 team out

the 2011 tigers averaged 44.6 points per game in the games NOT against bama.

Let's see how we fare when we hit the tougher defenses.

But I'm loving the '13 offense so far... Just wish we had a better defense to keep feeding them the ball. A bunch of 3&outs from the D would make the offense even better.

You better adjust that 2011 scoring number to offense only, because Honey Badger his share of scores on returns, INT's, stripped balls, etc...

Another child blinded by his temper tantrum.

2007 LSU ranked 21 in total D and 12 in total O.
2011 LSU ranked 2 in total D and 12 in total O.

How can you not give the offense a lot of credit for getting LSU into two BCSNC games and winning one of them?

true, but LSU had a ridiculous average starting field position in 2011...large part to the D and ST

Good lord. Give it a rest.

Balance on offense is what we didn't have in 2011 that we have now. This shite ain't that hard to figure out.

Do you really want to entertain the idea of this year without Cameron?

So if we take all of sabans years and subtract st/d scores, he never had a good offense. In fact 2004 and 2002 were akready worse than anything miles has fielded. So in reality, saban had some of the worst offenses in school history.

Funny how that works.

I am trying to remember who hired him. And before him Miles had 3 of the top 4 offenses in school history.

In 2007 and 2011, we were 2nd in the nation both years in turnover margin. We had 30+ turnovers both years. We had plenty of easy scores because of great field position.

2007's offense was good though with Flynn, Hester, Byrd, Doucet, etc.

2011's offense was fortunate to have an unbelievable D, special teams and everything else... We won the SEC Championship game with 30 yards passing, JJ having 25 total yards and our team having about 230 total yards of offense. Yet, we scored 42 - pretty mind boggling to be honest. I think we were 86th in total offense at the end of the year.

2006's offense reminds me of this one (though this year's is better). JaMarcus was having a senior year like Mett and we had a great passing game minus a couple of games.

06 and 07, both of these qb's were developed by Jimbo! Once he left for FSU we went in the tank at that position. In 2011 it seemed that every other drive started around midfield and TM7 was probably averaging 7 points a game by himself. On this offense, COACH CAM'S offense, he has developed Mett to where he should be. I like CLM, but your a damn fool if you think this is his offense. Get off his nuts already. I'm glad he did his job as CEO and hired somebody to delegate power to, Coach Cam. Without Coach Cam we would lose 5-6 games this year. What a biased pos.
