He might be. But how will that screw with the development of Jennings and especially Harris.

More quality competition will help. We start Golson in 2015 and have Jennings and Harris as vets in 2016 with McMillan and Franks as freshmen.

Cam building dat QB depth.

For everyone saying Golson wouldn't be a step up, he did start in a National Championship 3 years ago

My guess is he will transfer to lower level to assure starting spot
Nothing guaranteed if he came to LSU and I doubt he could win the job in the fall with Miles

Didn't he lead ND to an undefeated regular season a few years back?

And some people in here actually don't want him?

Give me a break. Take him and throw him in the competition, it won't hurt anything.

With that said, Miles won't take him and he isn't picking LSU.

Didn't we have a thread similar to this 4 months ago?

He won't come here. Ol' Leslie is perfectly satisfied with his anointed QB (and let's be honest here, we all know who that is). Two more seasons of this madness. Buckle up, you'll learn to like it.

I would be shocked if he came here and couldn't beat who is here. I've tried to defend both Harris and Jennings but Golson has been a different level QB than those guys can be in the foreseeable future. Golson would be in a ball control, pro-style offense which would prepare him better for the NFL than most other systems. I think it's a no brainer. He'd have tons of weapons all over the field behind a veteran offensive line with what could be a nasty defense.

I'm not against getting him. I just think it would show a lack of faith in the development of two qbs who have PT.

Notre Dame's defense (and a shite schedule) were more responsible for that undefeated regular season.

Here's a good one. 85 FBS teams had less turnovers than Golson last year. There's 128 FBS teams, so about two-thirds of the FBS had less turnovers than Golson.

Well neither QBs have shown that they have what it takes to be the field general for LSU. If they take and start Golson in 2015 they still both have a chance to play in 2016 when Everett's time is done.

It's the offense he plays in. Also, Jameis winston had 14 turnovers and he was just selected #1 overall in the draft.

How many of those teams had better passing efficiency than LSU with their current world beaters?

I definitely want to start a turnover prone qb at Bama, at South Carolina, at Ole Miss, and at Moo state.

How will he turn the ball over when it's in Fournette's hands?

Jennings doesn't appear to be ready in year 3, although it is unfortunate he wasn't able to redshirt his first year. I can't see how it would affect Harris at all. A true sophomore not starting isn't very unusual, and he likely would get some snaps if Golson comes to LSU.

here's some other good stuff, Golson's passing numbers last yr:

256/427, 60% comp, 3445 yds, 29 TDs, 14 ints

did he have some bad turnover issues? yes. but did he still look like he could throw the ball like a competent high level college QB more often than not? yes.

if he wants to come, sign him up.

If he comes to LSU we are a preseason favorite for the SEC and jump into the top 5 nationally. By the end of the year the offense can be clicking.
