Doubtful, any team in the country will have as much talent as UK, it is what it is. Simmons is a guy that will be a first team AA.

We didn't have tournament talent last season really. We had O'Bryant and 2 undersized guards. Stop perpetuating bullshite.

No. No, you haven't.

I'm like the little boy who cried wolf. Every year I'm telling my friends THIS is the year we will finally push through

There is almost zero chance Martin and Mickey both come back.
Of the two I want Mickey to stay. But, sadly both will probably declare.

I think anyone with eyes knew that last year's team would be decent and MAYBE have a shot at the tourney. Year before that we had zero expectations and overachieved. This year I think we have the pieces to squeak in the tourney and still might. Next year legitimately is a year to look forward to.
This whole idea that people have been saying "wait til next year!!" for the last several years is so stupid and overplayed.

Fixed.
The 1989-90 LSU basketball season showed that all the talent in the world can't overcome a lack of coaching.

Best players on court tonight in order IMO:
1.Towns
2.Cauley-Stein
3. the way Martin played tonight
4. Booker
5. Andrew Harrison
6. Mickey
7. the way Martin has played all year
1. Cauley-Stein
1.(tie) Martin
3. Mickey
4. Townes
5. Andrew Harrison
6. Hornsby
and I would be tempted to rate Hornsby over Harrison.

Please refrain from using God's name in such an inappropriate manner.

a poised point guard would be nice, eh?
The guard play threw whatever chances there were out the window in the last two minutes.
big guys M & M rebounded with U of K. That was great.
They may get another chance in the SEC tournament.
Pathetic thing is that the committee seeds the NCAAs without much regard to the big conference champ games on the last day.

A point guard that know the difference between beating his man vs his man letting him blow by him. Let him blow by to meet up with a guy with the wing span of a 747. Gray or CJ did not once try to get the ball to Mickey on the baseline when Cauley-Stein came over to block his shot. I seen him blow by UK pg 4 times down the stretch. If he makes the extra passes Tigers win.. Simple coaching and something a pg should recognize.

and possibly M&M.....who's seriously favored over LSU???
if even one of them returns, we will be on the level with any team in the country. They say Martin is gone, I have to believe that as well. Here's hopeing Mickey stays.

so true. This year we have a good shot at making the tournament and making some noise in it. Next year, if Mickey stays, we could be in the hunt make the final 4 and possibly to win it all.

maybe if Martin and Mickey both go then we go with a unconventional positionless lineup of our best 5 players: Simmons, Blakeney, Quarterman, Hornsby, and Victor. No true center or even big PF, but still plenty of size. Plenty of scoring punch. YOu could bring in Epps, Robinson, and/or Malone, depending on who develops, to add some size when needed. When you need more of a true PG there is Patterson and Gray will play smarter next season. If Mickey stays, then we have a great lineup. Quarterman PG, Blakeney SG, Simmons SF, Victor PF, and Mickey C.
Posted on 2/11/15 at 10:59 pm to RoyalLSU
Hornsby will beat out Blakeney. He is a better defender, rebounder and outworks and out hustles everybody. Blakeney will get his minutes, especially against zones, but Hornsby is too good to sit on the bench.
Posted on 2/11/15 at 11:12 pm to Tom Bronco
Blakeney is a starter from day one. Not even debatable. Will be purest shooter on the team..and it won't be close.

If M&M BOTH stay (unlikely imo) most importantly it will give us great depth.
