LSU did mess up by expanding.

That last expansion did it in.

Going to see a live LSU game used to be special...no there is nothing special about it.

The good news is that our biggest games this year will be at 2:30, so the rush to leave won't be an issue.

It is by far, but there’s still a pretty big clear out in the 3rd. Usually people that I never see again (not season ticket holders)

I don't know why people are offended by saying that the crowd is terrible.

I am just wondering why it has happened.

The reasons people leave are mind boggling...

The team wasn't playing well.
The team was blowing them out.
The team isn't fun to watch.

Where are the students going anyway?

Why do all of the great parties start at 7:30?

as a student who hasn't left a game early since my dad forced me to leave when I was 9 so we could go beat traffic vs Troy in 08 (and bc it was cold as frick for those who remember). I can tell you it's SPECIFICALLY sorority girls that leave after about a quarter because they're too hot or something like that. Then, the guys that don't care about football that much just go with them because they have an excuse to leave without getting too much crap about it. It really stems from a lack of people that really give a shite about sports which I guess is somewhat understandable, but it just sucks how many people think they're too cool to get loud in Tiger Stadium.

I've tried to explain it to you...

Kids get drunk, can't bring any alcohol in, by halftime they are sobering up and starting to feel like a bag of arse and lose interest in the game. It's really not that hard to understand.

Don't let the door hit you on your lazy, cheap, finger-pointin' arse on the way out, baw.

Games also didn’t last 4 hours

This is very true. Those CBS 2:30 games seem like 5 hour games with tv timeouts every 3 plays.

We brought alcohol in when I was a student...why isn't this a problem for other student sections?

So students that got hammered in 2010, and stayed the whole game no matter who they were playing were just better at drinking?

People have been getting hammered at tailgates for decades.

I think the student hit the nail on the head...people don't care.

Win or lose...they don't care.

Reduce the security and let them have their bourbon TD showers again.

Well I graduated in '12, but by the time I was jr/sr the check to get in was crazy. They gave you a full body pat down. Obviously you could sneak stuff in if you put a lot of effort in concealing it. Then the penalty for getting caught was getting turned into the Dean instead of just denying entrance.

You can put on any crappy BIG 10 game, and their student section is filled.

Hell at Wisconsin they stay for the band to play after the games...win or lose. I guess they don't drink in Wisconsin.

Yes people who don’t care about football certainly don’t care about LA tech, or SELA, or probably Rice. We’ve become spoiled. Never fails that Bama is full, Georgia will be full, and state will probably be full. It’s hard to keep interest of marginal football fans when they can go to Fred’s and Bogies

As much as you’re saying they don’t care, how much do you care if you’re not going from now on?

Well you're just delusional because i was a student at that time. And it was clearing out early then as well.

:game clock ticks: "Hey man we could go hit up the bar and have AC and kick back... my head is pounding" same conversation every game. Other that the big ones of course.

It will be full for the big games...as long as we aren't getting smoked.

I guess my point is it used to be full for all of the conference games, and if we are blowing them out...maybe some people would start to file out halfway thru the 4th.

You can go back and read quotes from Southern Cal players who came to Tiger Stadium in the 70's and the fear they admit to feeling playing here.

Ara Parseghian of Notre Dame said the atmosphere in Death Valley was so intense that he would NEVER bring another team to Baton Rouge.

We're nothing like that in 2018. No one is afraid to play here.
