Yes he is and Vern was a well. Vern was the radio play by play guy for the Dallas Cowboys in the 70s and early 80s for all you Aints fans that hate Dallas. Of course most you probably weren't born yet.

Gary Danielson and Verne both suck. I hate them and keep it on mute whenever they are on. Terrible announcers and total shitstains compared to Nessler and Blackledge. They are the best, very professional, and not dumb and goofy like Verne/Danielson.

I've never heard an announcer more obviously root for bama than Verne.

Gary's call of the LSU fake field goal over the shoulder pass against SC was great.
The play before he is criticizing Miles for running a running play on 3rd and long saying it just doesn't make sense. Then the fake happens and he comes back and says that 3rd down run makes a ton more sense now.
Side Note Vern's call of the fake is OUTSTANDING. Miles reaction to the replay on the Jumbotron is awesome too. You know college football is no darn fun

I think the whole "I hate the announcer" thing skipped my generation. It at the very least skipped me and just about al the guys I have hung out with since elementary school.

I've seen this many times.
I think Gary is great, best CFB color guy.
But the above statement while true, is not from just him seeing something. He meets with both head coaches before every game and is given "insider" info for the broadcast.
Meaning, a coach may say if it's this and that at this point in the game, look for us to do such and such.
