No doubt he talks to the coaches and gets their take on some formations, plays, etc they like. Still impressive that he's able to diagnose it before the play with a million other things going on, such as recapping the last play or correcting Verne's Freudian slips.

I like watching games that he calls, reminds me of Pee Wee Reese, of course Dizzy had his own style. I miss Dandy Don :)

Every single announcer has this opportunity. Gary makes the most of it.

I think a lot of the people who dislike Danielson (I'm one of those people though less now than a few years ago) remember how he was constantly guzzling Tim Tebow's load. When you watched a Florida game during that time, according to Danielson, 99% of the players on their team ran a 4.3, 40m.

I agree. Have been saying this for a few years but some of my buddies cant stand him for some reason. If you watch enough, many times he predicts the play. He does spend time with the teams preparing the week prior but he is very analytical and I like his commentating.

I actually really do enjoy listening to GD because he really knows his stuff and breaks it down. I can;t wait to see him with Brad Nessler.
