Those idiots thought they were sending the man off but in reality there actions led to him being retained.

I do not think their actions led to his retention. I do think it made his retention a little easier.

i work with fans from about 7 different fanbases....they all thought we were idiots that this was even happening. Add that to about 99% of the media, coaches, and other fans and i'd definitely say its a vocal minority

And then they bash is for having kept him this week.... Go figure.

Hopefully they learned their lesson and will be able to keep their mouths closed if this situation comes up again in the future.

The $15 million blindside is the only way to pull it off.

The last time they tried to cut LSU's budget, KA advocated for higher taxes instead. This is the same guy who started shite by saying LSU was "bankrupt" when it's not even close to being bankrupt. It's you that have no clue how the world works. Anyone can advocate for higher taxes and the president of the LSU system is a pretty strong advocate.

I worded that poorly. He wants to appear poor so he could advocate for higher taxes to "save" his "bankrupt university.

$15 million dollars in tough economic conditions had a lot to do with it too.

hey choc,

are you still of the opinion he has to get to ATL next year or he should be gone? if so i guess you are predicting an SEC West title next year?

yes and yes.

now i say this knowing that an SEC West team could very well go 11-1 and not make it to Atlanta. Hard to get rid of a coach after going 11-1....right?

yes he should be safe if he goes 11-1 with no atl trip. in that case we would be in playoff contention most likely. hell i think he should stay if he's 10-2 and no atl trip.
