Sorry not much of a transcript of the podcast topic but I thought it was interesting to see what someone on the outside looking in thought about Saturday Night. It's easy to see how someone not connected closely to the program or the state could misunderstand Saturday Night because it is a very complicated relationship.

Basically the podcast summarizes that they were shocked by Miles reception and it led them to believe that the people that wanted Miles out were the vocal minority and mostly just the big wig boosters.

For me personally, as we loomed closer to kickoff without any official announcement of Miles departure, I feared this perfect storm to save his job could happen. You had an emotional crowd, full of people who thought this was his last game
as the LSU football coach. The fans that love Miles and wanted him to stay, drew signs and cheered loudly. The fans that wanted him gone, cheered as a relief, and out of respect for a man who has had a great deal of success in his 11 years as the head football coach. Almost everyone can agree that Les has been a class act and great ambassador for LSU football, for most of us that wanted him gone felt the product on the field has gotten stale. Jimbo allegedly backing out of sort of verbal agreement combined with the most electric crowd of the season for an ugly 19-7 victory over Texas A&M ultimately help save Les Miles is job.

Hopefully they learned their lesson and will be able to keep their mouths closed if this situation comes up again in the future.

Miles had a plan, finally. It worked.

Those idiots thought they were sending the man off but in reality there actions led to him being retained.

Funny because all you saw on here last week was wanting someone to tell us what was going on

I laugh at any idiot who thinks the decision to keep Miles was made on the fly Saturday because of fan reaction.

The decision was made because Jimbo was not coming to LSU. Be it because Alexander got involved and nixed the deal because of politics or because Jimbo just flat out declined the offer, it doesn't matter and we will never know the whole story. I can promise you one thing, Alleva and the boosters knew well before the game Saturday that Miles was going to be retained.

Message boards are one thing, it should have never been printed in the Advocate. They need to plug some of the leaks before we do another coaching search.

Thing is I think the media bashed LSU so bad and people were watching and listening and since we are a nation of sheep they followed with what they were being told to do. Probably 99% of people wanting Miles to stay have iPhones

The love of Miles did not save him. A university president who wanted to appear poor so he could eventually raise your taxes did.

Do you really believe that?

I've talked to a lot of people over the last two weeks about the situation and it seemed to be a pretty split issue, the more casual fans seem to prefer Miles while the more fanatic portion seems to slightly favor moving on. Far from a vocal minority IMO.

I wanted Miles out, but I did get emotional seeing him carried off and talking..

I don't see that happening next time. LOL

i work with fans from about 7 different fanbases....they all thought we were idiots that this was even happening. Add that to about 99% of the media, coaches, and other fans and i'd definitely say its a vocal minority
