He may:

Get the players playing with energy

Recruit Well

Work Hard at his job

But so did Les and Les wasn't enough

----------------------

LSU is about being champions or at least being serious (late season) contenders.

I am not saying Coach O cant take us to the promise land, but playing hard and recruiting well is where we are at currently and its not enough.

I would love for a Louisiana guy to be the HC of LSU and have us dominate the rest of the country, but lets let this guy complete the season first

the only way if he should stay HC is if we run the table

Agreed. He would deserve some serious consideration, if this were to happen. It's very unlikely though.

If O makes changes which he's already doing, unifies the team and wins he deserves strong consideration. Let him hire a top notch OC and I think we'd have great results.

I have to disagree with you on the energy statement. Players seemed lazy and simply going through the motions.

I don't think anyone is convinced that O should be permanent

If we run the table (with some convincing wins over lower-tier SEC schools), he deserves the job. If he can manage to only lose 1 or 2 games, he deserves a legit shot. Anything else, I think he would understand that the search must go on without him.

Not sure if running the table and winning a major bowl game would be enough for the fans who believe LSU should play for and win the national championship EVERY year.

agreed.......Tre White's pick 6 and the goal line stand at auburn.....other than the players on the field, the sidelines appeared very pedestrian for such huge moments in games. Hell, those are the only 2 plays that have really got me pumped, but I'd expect the players on the team to be completely fired up for both of those.

Yes, there were some players on the sidelines pumped in each instance, but not your typical show of emotions for such big moments in each game.

I'm with you in that let's see how this season turns out.

Being a Louisiana guy is much overrated. Ever since Johnny Jones started sucking, I've discounted the need for a Louisiana Man as a program's head coach.

les from 05 until 11 did this. since 1/9/12 he hasn't

Work Hard at his job

He clearly didn't work hard enough since the same game management issues that plagued us during his best years as coach are still here. If you can't correct simple things then you aren't working hard enough.
