The team has some problems on the defensive front. MSU has a great running offense and a stout defense. I think the offense will have to carry the water this Saturday. Hopefully the D can get enough stops. I think it will be a real struggle.

If LSU wins the much credit to 0.

Agree but the real test to me is how up/down they are to play after a big win. Can’t come out flat

Agreed. It’s a big game, IMHO we could go anywhere from 8-4 to 10-2 right now. We win this game I’m expecting a 10-2 regular season.

Don’t kid yourself, every game is a measure. Just the way it is these days.

I thought the real test was pummeling the #2 team in the country.

I’m expecting a super physical, close game. Honestly, I’m mainly nervous about this one because of our D-Line depth.

Win this one and it says a ton about the mentality of our coaches and players.

The next game will always be the "real test" until he gets fired or dies.

Why? O does not run the offense or defensive side of the ball. That's what his coordinators are there for. O's job is to get the team mentally prepared every week and recruit at an extremely high level.

And where will you stand after we beat MSU then bama pushes our shite in?
You are just like the media. O has done a great job but some people just can't give the man credit. I remember reading all the doomsday predictions. Yet, somehow, the man is 6-1 with more wins over ranked opponents than anyone this year. And he STILL has more to do to impress some of you?

Don't we have this thread every week, except substituting that week's opponent for MSU?

This. And the ultimate measure is where you stack up at the end of the year after the dust settles. I'm not sure why people are trying to make this a week to week deal ... "Is THIS the week we prove we are elite???"

This game and the A&M game worry me much more than Georgia did.

Orgeron has every opportunity to prove that he can put together a successful season.

If they lose then 0 will have accomplished nothing that CLM did not do in his last 5 or so years at LSU. Not what we are expecting from our new coach. Is it?

He gets no more screw ups like the Florida game. No excuses. He needs to deliver.

The real test was Miami, then it was Auburn, then it was Florida, then Georgia..Now it’s MSU?
How about the test being Bama..Until LSU beats Bama, they will continue to suck hind tit, just like every other team in the SEC.

Calling him “0” is a great way to show your objectivity.

I doubt they come out flat. My only concern is that we don't match up great vs Miss St. They have a good run game and we are weak at run D. They have a very good DL and we've had struggles on the OL.

I'm encouraged that our overall health on the OL is improving and we are getting a more settled OL. Defensively, if Fehoko can't go it will hurt a lot, especially if Big Ed is not able to play more snaps and Shelvin can't contribute.
