I think the point is that a well coached team not only handles loss well and keeps the team together, but they keep them focused and grounded after a big win.

I don't see a let down at all. It's actually a great game to have after a huge win. There is no way coaches and players aren't fired up to play this game. We owe State a serious beat down.

Agree but the real test to me is how up/down they are to play after a big win. Can’t come out flat

exactly my position. if we come out and dominate Miss St i would be pleasantly surprised.

It is a "restoring the order" game for LSU.

He can get the team to finish in the top 5 or at least the top 10, but yes, until he wins the SEC it is a fail.

Of course he gets credit for last week. He and his staff coached circles around Kirby and his staff. Huge win and clearly a step in the right direction.

That's kind of how this works. He's never accomplished anything of note as a head coach, thus he needs to prove he is leading our program in the right direction. If he can pull of a 10 win regular season I'd say he's got this thing on the right path. A season's success is judged at the end of the season, not in October.

The great coaches get their teams up for every game, no matter the opponent that week or prior or future weeks.

We had a huge, emotional win on Saturday. Let's see how the team responds to a disappointing MSU team tomorrow.

I'm fully expecting to dominate MSU in just about every facet of the game. I will disappointed if this team doesn't keep it's momentum up.

I would normally be worried about a game like this. But with the way State took us to the shed last year, I think we play with a lot of energy tomorrow night and blow the doors off of them. I just hope Fehoko isn't totally out or hamstrung.

I don’t know if i can make Mississippi State some kind of big measuring stick for anything. LSU normally plays pretty well at home and that’s why the Georgia outcome didn’t surprise me. Well, let me restate that. The three touchdowns win did surprise me. Now, I do believe that the Bama game will be a measuring stick to some degree.

Yet, somehow, the man is 6-1 with more wins over ranked opponents than anyone this year. And he STILL has more to do to impress some of you?
good lord, man, we're only 7 games into a 12+ game season.

Yes, so far so good, but there's much more to go. And our goal is to win the West, not just have a pretty record.

So while 6-1 is very good and there's much to be pleased about, there's much more work to do.

Yeah. That is a huge factor and why I specified "just about every facet." We need Fehoko in there to stuff the run and eat up some blockers to free up some semblance of a pass rush.

Every game is a measuring stick for a college head coach. It's the nature college football . Team needs to bring it just like they did last weekend.

Not sure why this needs to continue to be explained to LSU fans of all people. Three years ago we were #2 in the country in November and wound up in the Texas Bowl.

No offense, but until he wins something instead of nothing I think it is reasonable. He has done better than most expected, but until he delivers a championship he has not lived up to expectations. The loss to UF really crimped LSU's shot at the playoffs i.e. going 11-1.

If he can do it, I give him all the credit in the world. People who will be happy with 9-4 like last year are losers in my opinion. Miles could go 9-4 with a loss in the Nothingness Bowl.

With some fans, O is measured on every game. So beating 3 top ten teams, he is still measured by a #22 ranked team. If he wins out and loses to a&m some will be calling for his head. It is just how it is in these crazy times we live in.

So you're saying if we beat Bama, lose to A&M and end up 10-2 in the regular season with a bowl win to finish 11-2, "people" will be calling for his head? Yeah that is a massive load of bullshite.

Yes. Just like the UF game this year, he has to beat A&M. If they beat 'Bama and throw up against the Aggies, that is a huge fail. Top notch programs do not lose such games.

Yep that's what I am saying as an O supporter. In the eyes of some fans he will never be good enough.

1) There are a handful of people who will never accept Orgeron simply because they are pissed he was ever hired. You'll find these same people protesting on the streets because Hillary lost.

2) Every game is the measure of a coach at this level. On top of winning, consistency and continuity has to be established.

3) He's obviously better than some thought, but you can't grade a coach until he's had several years to build a program. This recruiting year and next season are a bigger marker of how he can run a program.
