So if we're keeping count, when the qb quickly tosses the ball to the tailback we now have:

643 run plays
1 pass play

To be fair, one of those run plays was a reverse that broke Bama's back in 2010.

Also, it is 2 pass plays, ask Magee what he did against State last year.

How come no one seems to be talking about this? One of the big complaints on this board is that theres no play action off the toss dive. Seems like Les found a way to show up the tards once again.

You know Les didn't call that play, that one worked. Les only calls the bad ones, like the TE screen. Or that's what people tell me at least.

been a tough several weeks for you hasn't it little buddy. I know you try your best to grin and try and seem happy with the success...but it's wearing on you...that's obvious. Hang in there....there are some tough games coming up soon, and there is a chance you will get your chance......

Quite the contrary. I'm guessing you don't sit by me at games. I'm having a blast this season.

Its working great with a back like Leonard. I still prefer a stretch hand off to the toss dive due to the play action off of it. The flea flicker worked great this time, but lets be honest, it is a one receiver route and could easily be covered. The play action would be consistently more effective for a number of reasons. But hey, it worked and hopefully it will keep those safeties honest.

It was a thing of beauty. Twice in that game we totally exploited Florida's focus on Fournette. The other time was when he lined-up in the wildcat (was that on the same drive?) near the goal line. Florida sends all 11 guys up the middle to try and stop him, and he cuts it to the outside and literally walks in.

That's the great thing about having a guy like him (well, other than the thousands of yards he gains). The opposing defenses is so determined not to let him beat them that they can get deceived very easily. Now that Harris has established his passing ability, what do they focus more on? You either stack the box and risk getting torched on a pass, or play a normal D and risk getting shredded by LF. Pick your poison.

The point is that LSU dialed up a very well timed, and executed flea fleaker. It was beautiful. But 1 trick play doesn't make the argument that you can't play action off of the toss dive incorrect.

Awesome catch by Malachi with Hargreaves swatting at it too. I think that's Malachi's most impressive ability, he can make tough catches in tight coverage

I loved it. I wonder why there are more pass plays set up by teams stacking 8(or more!) in the box trying to stop LF7.
I get that LF7 is Great. He's the best RB I've ever seen play. He's a once in a generation player. BUT, his running skills have to be creating a situation where pass plays should be able to get chunk yards from time to ime.
I want LF7 to get lots and lots of touches. I'd like him to get those touches against 6 in the box instead on 9 or 10 AND I'd like to ocassionally throw when it is unexpected and not just on 3-12 or longer.
K, Thanks.

just needs to focus the same on the easy ones as he does on the tough ones.

If that was a "trick play" then every play action is a trick play. It was not slow developing it developed at a rate of faking a hand off. It was even more effective because it entered the RBs hands who (due to the effectiveness of the toss dive) is already passing the qb at full speed by the time he gets the ball compared to a hand off.

Just admit it. Les is smarter than you.

Lets see how many more times it gets run this season. 1 in 11 years. A flea flicker is considered a trick play.

How many times do we play action off the jet sweep? About once a year. Does that make it a trick play?

I want to see a flea-flicker RB screen.

Did it a bunch of times in the SC game. I don't think we ever actually went with the sweep any of the times that we showed it.

I am neither Nega-Tiger, nor Posi-tiger. I consider myself realistic-tiger. Somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. I like to think that most of us fall in that category.

For the record, I do not call it the toss dive. I prefer "center sweep". "Center Sweep" makes no sense. And that's how I've always felt about this play.

However, through Leonard, all things are possible. That includes success on the "Center Sweep"

Without Leonard, in my humble opinion, it's a wasted play. I would prefer a QB sneak if they are just in the mood to waste a snap.

Honestly, I don't know why we don't run it more. There isn't a defense in the country that won't bite on the run. Not one.
