07 Arky was heartbreaking at the time. We had just gotten back to #1 and all we had to do was win. It was soul crushing to lose to such a shite team.

1986 Miami(OH) L 12-20.

Most heartbreaking tie was to Bama 1985 14-14.

Ole Miss 1997, the week after upsetting #1 Florida.

We were on the cover of SI that week and ranked #8th in the country. I thought we had finally arrived. We were still a few years away...

Worked out well in the end for us, but for some reason the '93 L to Arkansas bothers me...team had fought back to .500 and had a chance to go bowling but yacked up 400+ yards rushing to the Hogs...

Elite 8 loss to Indiana in hoops 1987. I still can't get past it.

2nd - '98 loss to Bama at home. Bama scores on a couple of tipped passes and Abram Booty lets a gump take a TD pass away from him.

the extra point game

This one took some time for me to get over, and it's the one that switched me from merely wanting to beat Auburn like any other conference opponent to outright loathing. I was at that game with my mother, an AU alum, and I remember having a physical sensation like my soul was snapping in two.

That would have sealed the win. Easily the worst I've experienced. Hadn't beat them at home since '69? Come on.

1998 Alabama was the most bitter loss for me until 2004 Iowa.

1998 was frustrating but Bama game the worst

Tennessee 1959-- I was 14, LSU cruising to back to back national championships. Cannon stopped at goal line for 13-14 loss. First loss in 2 years. I was crushed.

This one for me too. We were bad for most of my life to that point and finally felt like we had arrived only to get brought back down to earth by Ole Miss and Tuberville.

The most devastating was the 2002 loss to Arky. Matt Jones couldn't hit the side of a barn that entire game and all of a sudden, brings them home with the GW drive.
