I beleive Hodson was a redshirt freshman and beat out Guidrey for the job to start the season.

Yeah he was a redshirt, but if I remember correctly, he was injured his freshman year and couldn't play. His first start was vs a ranked Texas A&M team and we won. Pretty impressive performance for a young man getting his first playing time in college.

If it were third and long. I'd actually have to pick JR in his junior season. That dude converted so many third and longs, third and shorts, 2nd and shorts, second and longs, basically to earn a number one spot in the draft. Apparently he left it all in tiger stadium.

Watching Rohan limp around the field while Booty chomped at the bit to get in was awesome. That student section in 2000 was vicious!

Not to hijack BUT that was 3 times that season that the posts game down ... then they started lubing them up with Vaseline (remember hearing talk of that on the pregame show) ... that's also the season if I remember correctly that someone got injured like BAD from the goalposts coming down.

Impressive is hardly the word. The Tackleboxers came in rated #6 and we were unrated. I still remember that game.

My favorite 3 were:
1. Davey
2. Russell
3. Mauck/Tyler tied for 3rd

Davey really helped me get into LSU football again after the Dinardo years of my youth even though Tyler/Faulk was my favorite backfield by far.
