Other than Bama at home no one is priced out for tickets. People were selling tickets for 10$ yesterday or giving them away.
The same type of tickets Texas sold LSU fans and the band. Nobody wants that.

Being hot as hell, costing small fortune to stay hydrated, traffic flow, tired from activities earlier in the day, bringing young kids to the game with them getting restless around halftime are among the reasons many leave early.
There are those of us who attended for years until the season tickets were priced out of the market. Yes, we can afford it, but there is a limit to what we will pay, when we can just as easily watch the game on our large screens in the comfort of an air conditioned den, with better food, no obnoxious fans and the ability to have a clean bathroom to go to when we want. Moreover, it gets old getting nickel and dimed to death.
The LSU experience is not what it once was. For those who have been attending for the last 40+ years you know what I am talking about. Concessions were a hell of a lot better and much of it was cooked on site. Definitely gave the stadium a different smell for the better. Volunteer groups manned concessions in exchange for a modest cut for their organizations. The tailgating experience was superior then until aN AD who shall not be named ruined it. Corporations have bought up so many blocks of tickets to the extent that those seats are generally filled with spectators who know little about the school or its traditions. There is also the time factor. If you are on the tube there are going to be lots of commercial time outs (that along can break a team's flow.
College students leave for parties or just going to one of their rooms to practice their breeding drills. They are at an age that they are horny as all hell.
Things admittedly change, sometimes for the better, sometimes not. When I attended on a regular basis I stayed until the very end - win or lose.

Los Angeles traffic is brutal every day, yet people go to work
And this is one of the MANY reasons we don't live in CA. Excoriating LSU fans for not simply "accepting misery", as los angelenos have done, is just plain dumb. Accepting problems as just problems, is not progress.
BTW on the CA topic, UCLA was literally giving away tickets yesterday, so there's that...

So for people to go there need to be very cheap tickets in great seats? For non sec games you can get lower bowl for very cheap or free.

I am pretty sure that ND loses about 1/3 of their fans at halftime. The seat spacing is so close that you just can't notice on TV. If you have attended a game there, then you know the allotted space on the 2X6 bench seating is tight.

If you want good seats you will have to pay. Supply and demand.

Sounds like reasons to not go at all. This has nothing to do with leaving early. Last night 90% of the Student section left at halftime of a 10 pt game. Students today do not give a hoot about the games anymore.
Contrast this with the fact that the remainder of the stadium stayed until mid third quarter when LSU had pulled out to comfortable lead. Hats off to SEZ fans... they stay longer than anyone.

I have seen fans leaving in droves this season and last season at the following places: LSU, A&M, Bama, Auburn, Florida, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Ohio State, Michigan, Mich State, Oregon, and Washington.
Attendance at CFB games is similar in almost every bigtime program. Maybe NDame is the only exception to that.

Notre Dame's entire schedule is a bunch of cupcakes. Their fans are a bunch of frontrunners who want to believe they are one of the great football teams like old times.
The LSU game was brutal to watch in the first half Saturday night. Couldn't imagine being there, although I am sure I would have stayed regardless.

frick UCLA, USC, Chip Kelly and any other school but LSU. I travel Los Angeles roads every single day. I’m all Louisiana through and through though and if I can put up with hours of daily driving through the most brutal traffic around, these bitch arse LSU fans now have ZERO to bitch about a handful of times per year. What a fricking weak arse excuse and weak arse fan base we have there now.

does LSU genuinely have a problem?

But, Auburn fans still pack in, and stay, and wave their pom poms 'til the end,
Because my son is in the Auburn Band, I was at their game last week against Tulane (always entertaining to see Sad Greenies.)
There were plenty of empty seats at kickoff, and the stadium was pretty empty by the end of the game. Not as empty as at LSU last night, but plenty left early in the fourth.
Everybody has this problem.

Also, it is kinda dumb to play "Bitch, I'm from Louisiana" when playing another state school. It's pretty dumb to play it at all.
Thank you for saying this. When I heard this come on I thought.....hmmm we are ALL from Louisiana.

Same reason I leave a shitty movie or a bad concert. If the game is not entertaining, buying the ticket gives me the right to leave. LSU has parked us towards the outer campus through the years and come up with hokey contra flow. I actually leave earlier in the morning to fight that. If leaving early to make a 2 hour difference to Lafayette is needed, I’ll do it in a blowout.

Many LSU fans are jiggling, indolent sloths who cant even summon the energy or passion necessary to cheer for sixty minutes. Sad but true.

I can cite any non-conference game or non marquee SEC matchup. Have you walked around before any non-conference game before everyone is trying to get rid of tickets.

Good Lord, it's optional and they earn points to buy tickets to big games. Read a little, huh? And by the way, all we do is complain about our students leaving and then mock this fix.
