No. The Union is ugly. The PMAC looks great. Maybe it doesn't "fit" with the campus architecture, but do we really need another building with faux stucco?

Needs about 25 luxury suites - remove top third of the upper section seats and install small suites. Those upper level seats never get sold , so get rid of them and build something upscale.

PMAC

Blow it up and start over, it's an ugly, out-dated pile of crap.

went to a game at U Cincinnati last weekend and was suprosed how much better it was. Great sight lines throughout. Two story stadium club and luxury boxes.

Cincinnati pumped a lot of money into that university.

Its the same be when people say we should get all the top recruits in football because we have the best facilities. It is just bullshite when you see places like that.

I agree about the media section it blows. They need to be moved. No way should an entire lower level section be taken up by media. Put them court side and if they can't fit just give them tickets to watch the game. They don't need laptops setup and all that BS. They can write a story later.

absolutely not. they should give them an upper section in the corner. they will still be able to do there jobs.

I'm talking about directly court side at the scorers table. Those areas on each side of the court. If there's not enough available spots you give them tickets. The court side areas should be reserved for major media outlets and the top local outlets not every single LSU website that's out there.

I know where you are talking about and I still completely disagree with you. the scorers table is too small for media. and other courtside seats are reserved for big donors. the media can sit in the lower part of an upper corner level.

They used to be there in the past.

But, yes, this is where they should be now.

The PMAC is fine. Only thing I agree with is upkeep and maybe other amenities such as modern scoreboard. Remember the “Pit” in NM? Holds 17K+ and all wooden bench seats, but the cool/nostalgia factor is awesome.

I agree. However, The Pit was renovated a couple of years ago and it looks great.

Well we know football is king and Baseball is a championship product...SOOO. They came 1st as far as new goes.... The pmac is still agreat place to watch a game and IF the right product is put on the court,it will fill up and be one of the loudest arena's in the country...THIS is what I miss about the PMAC.

If they tear it down and rebuilt a cost of $100 million minimum and not a single poster in this thread would be able to afford a ticket.

It's not outdated. It's retro and vintage.

The roof on campus are Ludowici Italian tiles with a 3 color special LSU blend and are made in Ohio. Nothing Spanish about the campus except the workers building it.

Winning games fills stadiums not bigger seats or suites. Win and they will come.

I sat in the cow palace and watched Pete Maravich. Don't want to go back there but it's an old outdated building that people would cry if torn down.

If it was torn down and rebuilt everyone in this threading saying it is outdated will say how bad the new design is.

The roof is only about 5 years old and under warranty so the coating should be fixed by the manufacturer.

Kirby Smith is now not going to be torn down anytime soon. That project is off the table.

Why worry about the library when no one is using a book these days anyway?

New union upgrade is nice.

That's all the more reason to implode the building.

The rest you are spot on with, though.

Middleton and Kirby Smith are the two biggest detractors from the embiance of LSU at present. Kirby is coming down in the next couple years, but I have a feeling that Middleton will collapse and crumble to dust long before LSU ever decides to tear it down and replace it. Go to other major state schools like Kentucky, Ohio State, Arizona State, Alabama, ect. Look at their libraries compared to ours. Middleton is an absolute travesty. When I wanted a book at LSU, I generally had to go to a BR Library. EBRPLS is so vastly superior, it's not even funny.

Hell just look at ULM. They have a badass library.

How would you replace middleton. I assume you want to open the quad back to its original dimensions?

Love me some Deaf Dome. I fondly remember my freshman year in 1981. It was so loud it rivaled Tiger Stadium in intensity. it was like a mini-Death Valley.
It still has the potential to be that loud. I just wish there were more seats......

It would be in the old stadium dorms, duh!

But in all seriousness, I would probably put it either on the current site of the old engineering shops, bulldoze Lockett and put it there, or the old forestry building area. The library is currently in a prime location, but it's a simply terrible building.

Another decent spot would be the open lot between Stadium Drive and West Laville.

For what a library is mostly needed for these days on a college campus, you could probably revert the old Hill Library in the Quad to the "Main" Library again, and just move the bulk of the actual library holdings to a site on the outskirts of campus -- hell use Kirby Smith.

IF you were old enough to remember where the Pistol played, you MIGHT understand how nice PMAC
is.
