I am excited about Johnson's great recruiting class for 2010 as are most LSU fans. However we need to keep it real. It will take a couple of years to develop this talent to play at the D1 level. For example, North Carolina's 2008 recruiting class was ranked #11, and the 2009 class #5 according to Rivals. What did they do this year but go 16-16.

Yes, Kentucky was great this year, but the 2009 class was one of the best of all time and they still played like rookies at times.

LSU basketball fans need to remain patient. I hope for a great season in 2010-11, but more realistically, it may be the 2011-12 before we see real results.

I expect us to be at best 8-8 in SEC next year, 2011 is our year

Not signing any sec caliber players in a coaches first two years is unheard of in D-1 college basketball, still baffles me. This class coming in is a desecent class, malcolm white is a good player but he is no taz. We will win more games next year hopefully. It is hard to be excited hoping these freshman coming in will be impact players. In his third year he will still be relying on brady's players to carry the team. Spencer, Warren, Harris, and Green. We shall see....

get the frick outta here.

Ross-Miller or Stringer, Derenbecker, and White (all TJ acquisitions) will get more significant playing time than Spencer, Harris, Green.

Remind me because I forgot. What happened the last time LSU had a top 10 basketball recruiting class?

Oh yeah, Brady squandered it.

Minor- gone
Neltner- gone
Koundja- gone

Congrats, Brady. You made Darnell Lazare hang around for 4 years.

We won't be nearly as bad next season but I'm not looking for an outstanding record. I figure we start becoming a big time contender around 2011. I'm confident we could win a NC under TJ. Or at least I hope.

We'll see. We're gonna be enjoying alot of success starting this year though.

He was better than Neltner... Without Lazare, LSU loses to Duke in the Sweet 16. Fact.

There's no disputing that. Lazare was not the gem of the class though.

Didnt Lazare have like 10-12 pts in the first half of that game?

obviously not. it just seemed like a cheap shot at Lazare who was a very servicable back up and had his best game in one of LSU's biggest games during his tenure.

he had 10 points in the first half along with some good D while Thomas and Davis were on the bench in foul trouble.

You're right. It does come across like that. I was just trying to emphasize that keeping 1 out of 4 recruits is piss poor.

Really, besides Neltner and Lazare, that whole class was a bust. Hell, I guess Neltner technically was for LSU since he left... Taurean Minor couldn't hack it in the classroom and Regis never panned out even at G-Dub.

Neltner saw the writing on the wall with Rolle, Lazare, Davis, and Thomas. Prob figured he'd never play.

magnum rolle also had a nice game against duke. i was kinda hoping brady would throw CJ to the wolves but kinda glad he didn't in retrospect

lazare and rolle held it down, i think next year's team could wind up being a pleasant surprise (i don't see more than 7 or 8 sec wins, ole miss and miss. state will be the two best teams)but i think 11-12 is our year to make the next step. lots of numbers and talent next season but it will be a process.

Way too early to count out Dotson and Ludwig.

You're an idiot. LSU basketball is still LSU, they are still Tigers. I want them to be successful and maybe win a Championship. I'm hoping for the best from TJ and we'll see where we go. I'm excited about the success we'll have these coming years.

Me too cjf33. Trent gets a provisional but not a free pass from me for what just happened.

He's trying to build a foundation so the roller coaster ride will end, I understand, but it didn't have to be this bad this year to accomplish that IMHO.
