Bobby Bowden- Succeeded by Jimbo Fisher.

Howard Schnellenberger- Succeded by Dennis Erickson- Succeeded by Jimmy Johnson- Succeeded by Butch Davis

It helps to be in a talent rich area.

It happened with Les and Nick. The question is, will it happen three times in a row

So two places and let's not forget LSU would be going for a third straight successful coach. I'm neither for or against getting rid of les, but using two schools out of 100's of times it didn't work is called the exception not the rule.

I would not consider Barry switzer at Dallas a success. He found a way to lose in '94, and then plunged the cowboys into a dark dark hole by '97.

Ohio State doesn't make bad hires, apparently. At least in my lifetime.

Given the circumstances, Paterno-O'Brien-Franklin has been as successful as you can possibly expect.

Holtz-Spurrier at South Carolina, given their standards.

If you give them a pass on 2011, Tressel-Meyer at Ohio State was successful.

Miles-Gundy at OK State.

It happens at times. Myer at Ohio State is another, BUT Jimbo is in a slightly different category as he was the offensive coordinator and CIW statues for several years prior. This gave him time to prepare with the prior knowledge that he would be the coach--even then it took him several years to win in the relatively soft ACC. Not bashing his abilities, just shedding some reality on him.

John Cooper was extremely successful at OSU. He just could not beat Michigan 2-10-1.

Terry Bowden followed Pat Dye and went undefeated right away. Then things fell apart shortly thereafter.

Seems to be a theme at Auburn.. Chizik and Malzahnn both experienced early success only to regress in the following seasons

He's unsuccessful at this point. Forget a bot 5 yrs ago

It's easy to replace an unsuccessful coach

Yes and he would have been retained if he'd done a good job.

No losing seasons
Could still end the season 9-3 which is good considering we didn't get an easy win to push it to 10 wins.

There is a difference between ignoring his accomplishments and deciding we can push this team over the top.
