Oh Etling sucks. Weak and inaccurate arm. Only the extreme pumper would think he's great or even good. He's decent. Meaning for the most part his mistakes are uncatchable by either team. I still have no idea why we don't run more short crossing routes and play a little dink and dunk. I think this is where he could do some actual harm to defenses.
As I say, almost everyone has recognized this from day one. He's not really SEC caliber but he's all we have currently. I would rather work Brennan in and just scrap the season than throw him in the fire and still lose. The QB play isn't what cost us that game and probably not any of the other SEC games we're going to lose. We have no lines. Gilmore isn't a SEC quality lineman either and he's a vital piece to the line. If that's the case then we're screwed.
Bottom line is these guys should have been grinding it out back in July to become disciplined and play like a team and get hard. That falls on coach O. These kids aren't ready mentally, physically, or even academically with their plays. 100% on coaches.

If only everyone knew HALF as much as you think you know. Etling wasn't great but wasn't terrible. The bs call cost him 60+...and a few drops and other penalties and he was damn near 300 yards. Quit acting like he was jj

No QB in the nation would look good with our offense line!
Hurt at Bama would look like shite behind our line!!! I feel sorry fr our QB's!

Look... he didn't cost us the game, both lines did. They were manhandled all night. That being said he didn't play great either. Missed a few throws... made a few bad decisions.
But...
This is a fricking joke.
He literally hit gage in the fricking face b/c of anticipation. Gage made the cut and the ball was there.... there were a few others that were made like that as well. Damn near every if not all of the out routes are anticipated throws. That's not just with etling, that's a football kind of thing...

The offense we saw last game was not what we saw in previous games.

do you know how to have a cordial discussion with people that are disagreeing with you or do you always make unprovoked personal attacks when someone challenges your proven football ignorant opinion?

Read this slowly. This is what you are arguing. Your position is that if a play in which the other team's cornerback FELL TO THE GROUND and Etling lobbed a ball 25 yards to a receiver with no defender within twenty yards of him that every single qb in the country should make 10 out of 10 times would have counted, he would have had more passing yards.
He didn't thread the needle threw two defenders or throw a perfectly timed deep corner route into tight coverage. He threw a pass that 70% of the people reading this post could have made. If the pass does count, and at the end of the third quarter he has 100 yards total passing instead of 40, does it change anyone's perception except for delusional fans that defend everything he does blindly?

The 8 pressures and 2 drops means he completed about the right number of passes that he could and should have completed. He isn't the reason we lost. Youth, penalties, poor defensive coaching, and just getting physically man handled cost us that game.
Etling, Orgeron, and Canada have been crucified so far -- which comes with the territory. HOWEVER, the person that has not received their fair share of criticism yet is Tommy Moffitt. We got manhandled by a team that supposedly had less talent.

When the point that he's arguing is based on feelings, it's the only thing he can resort to. His argument doesn't hold up well when faced with facts and logic
