Receivers had difficulty getting open, when they did they dropped the ball.... Also Etling has a weak arm.

If a 5th year senior doesn't have it by now, He never will. Its just that simple.
Shhh. The rant doesn't agree.
Etling isn't the problem. He isn't all the problem but he is def some of it.
His skill set limits what we can do on offense.

The ignorant fan always blames the coach and QB and that's exactly what 95% of our fans are doing. Even with the shite show Saturday Etling still has yet to turn it over.
He had 40 total passing yards at the end of the third quarter. If Gage catches the pass that hit him in the face and Chark catches the long pass (both of which were good passes) and he has 75 yards passing at the end of the third does that make you feel any better about the qb play?
There is always an excuse for this kid. Always. I've never seen anything like it
-He wasn't any good at Purdue. No no no his whole team was bad it wasn't his fault
-He was benched for Austin Appleby. No their o-line was bad and they needed someone mobile even though Appleby isn't mobile
-He played awful vs Auburn. No no that was the fault of the bad OC and play calling
-He threw for 92 yards vs Bama. No everyone does bad vs Bama. Total anomaly
His stats were terrible last year. No no no he was hurt all last year that doesn't count
-His deep ball is very underwhelming. No he is just giving the receivers a chance to catch it
-He threw into quadruple coverage. No that was the right read you guys just don't know football
-Score 7 vs. Miss. St. No guys not the qb's fault that the offense only scored 7. If the play had counted when their cb fell to the ground it could have been 14!

He is not a good runner and doesn't have a strong arm.
That limits play calling ability.

Sadly he is no different than last season. He doesn't see the field, he doesn't anticipate receiver position, and he misses wide open receivers routinely. In the Auburn loss last season he threw to a man who was covered while the other receiver was alone at the goal line. He did the same vs State.

quote:. It is ignorant to blame the qb when it isn't his fault. In this situation it is rightfully so to blame the coaches. It is their job to have the team ready to play. LSU has the highest paid staff in college football and that staff shite the bed Saturday night.

Again I haven't seen anyone blaming Etling for the loss, so you idiots can stop using that arguement.
He's a game manager on a team that needs a playmaker back there. It's not his fault but the conditions needed for Etling to be successful as a starter need to be damn near perfect. You face a D with any kind of talent and his flaws are amplified big time

LSU trudges along with a 5th year senior QB, meanwhile Saban takes 5th years, transfers, and true freshman QBs to national championships. Bright future ahead.
Posted on 9/18/17 at 8:51 am to BilJ
The defense doesn't respect his running ability or his throwing ability.
Prime example. When he throws deep how many times have we seen the ball be underthrew but the receiver was able to still catch it because he was open by 5 yards.

He throws for 300 if not for the bs call, and if his recs catch a few passes.. bias much?

This is the truth. These people do nothing but make excuses. This mentality caused us to keep Miles for too many years and it will now hurt the future of the program. The offense needs to completely change and it hasn't. Ogeron has even stated that it wouldn't change much, because we are a running team. Our offense is not respected by anyone and mediocrity seems to be the goal for most on here. Spread the field and throw quick passes. This will protect the quarterback and create one on one matchups all over the field, instead of running in to a wall and taking 7 step drops. This should have been the change in the off season. Etling is terrible with short timing routes due to a lack of accuracy, a lack of arm strength, and delayed decision making. Brennan deserves a chance, but the offense would need to be called much differently. Quick passes would keep him clean and would keep defenses off balance, so we could rush more effectively. It is really a pretty simple concept and that is what is so frustrating for most. Etling could not maintain playing time at Purdue for a reason and it wasn't because he was accurate.

We need the black qb...amirite?

Pressured on 8 of 22 dropbacks. According to this board I thought he was a pressured on every play and that's why he sucked
its because 90% of the posters on hefe just regurgitate shite they saw other people post.etling had time to make plags last night.
im a big Etling fan but he played baf last night.

Anyone who thinks he sucked on Saturday can be immediately disregarded from future meaningful discussion.
You guys just don't get it. The lack of confidence from the staff is completely obvious by the play calling. It holds the entire offense hostage because he cant make certain throws and isn't poised in the pocket to make the reads. The ability of your QB determines what plays will be dialed up. They are trying to minimize his mistakes with vanilla play-calling. Pitt's offensive creativeness from last year is night & day compared to ours. It's simply because Canada was confident Nathan Peterman could make the plays.
You guys ever wonder why we were still handing the ball off under center on consecutive downs late in the 3rd quarter while down 20+ points?

Not really!!! Someone who can put pressure on the defense.
Brennan if he has a cannon can do it or a mobile QB that is somewhat accurate can do it.
You copy amirite?

First of all he probably graded out better than any other position on the team other than punter and RB.
bullshite.
he was inaccurate last night

He was not the problem. You could have put Drew Bree's back there and it wouldn't have made a difference. Danny had 5 perfectly thrown balls that were dropped uncontested.
3.
how many times did he hokd the ball too long?
etoing di not play well last night and our run blocking was literally the only reason we had any offensive yards through 3 quarters.
