dont see why it is insane to think the team with top 3 talent in the country shouldn't lose 3 games a year. Also dont understand how people are cool with our pee wee offense

Because you don't know facts. Facts are this offense put up more yards than bama playing in 3 less games.

Top 3 talent? Possible. But recruiting rankings are a good guide but not the end all. I'd say LSU would be in a group of 10-15 teams with about equal talent. Injuries, suspensions players leave early affect that year to year regardless of recruiting rankings.

Those rankings don't take into account a five star like Chris Davenport never amounting to much but helped your class edge into the top #3.

Try watching around 150 games of any coach, then come back to me.

Did you not watch the NFL playoffs? Even belichik forgot what the fricking clock was. It was such a shite show by the supposed top coaches in the game.

Get tired of people making shite up.

All of you are going to realize one day how good we have it.

Would have realized a lot sooner if we had hire any if these so called better coaches.

Will Muschamp
Dana Holgerson
Gene Chizik
Bobby Petrino
Art Briles
Butch Davis
Kevin Sumlin

Hell, Urban Meyer, he would have left LSU just like UF. They still trying to recover.

I'm sure there are others I can't think of.

What is that November record in the SEC since 2012?

Do you realize how ridiculous it is that you're using three different qualifiers to limit the results? Since 2012, only four of fourteen SEC teams have better than a .600 winning percentage in overall conference play. LSU is one of them.

With regard to perception, offense is a powerful thing. High production, pass oriented offenses make both teams and coaches appear better than what they really are. Defense wins championships, but offense wins over the psyche of talking heads.

This is truth. Phil Steele and a bunch of others will tell you that the AP ranks teams that return most of their offense higher. That's why some people so crazily believe that Ole Miss is in better shape than LSU this year (very few, but some do believe this).

Also, offense sales unless you are a national brand like Alabama that wins pretty much on ridiculous defense, a top run game, and game manager QB play. Between 2012 and 2014 are the only years that Bama could claim having more than just a game manager at QB.

Honestly, if LSU could lure Tony Petersen back to Louisiana, or snag Kendal Briles (who was a first year OC last year), we could take the SEC by the throat.

Briles has been the passing game coordinator, receivers coach, and offensive recruiting coordinator since 2012. Last year his offense was insane with Seth Russell in his only 7 games before he was injured. Russell had 2100 passing yards (insane 10.5 ypa) 29 TDs 6 ints 402 rush yards (insane 8.2 ypc) and 6 TDs in just 6 games. During that same time span, the starting RB had 974 yards (insane 8 ypc) and 9 TDs, and the top WR had 962 yards (insane 20.46 ypr) and a ridiculous 18 TDs.

Briles has had some great WR play and done some great offensive recruiting for Baylor during that time. Kendall Wright, Josh Gordon, Terrance Williams, Tevin Reese, Antwane Goodley, Corey Coleman, KD Cannon, just since 2010.

I know people will say, well look at who they play, well look at what we do vs lower tier teams. Think of 4 wide with Dupre, Dural, Ferguson, and Chark/Johnson. Think of Fournette and Guice running wild with a great passing game and mobile QB. Think of a fast pace offense having Bama gasp for air. Coleman was injured off and on the back half of the year along with starting RB Linwood, plus they lost their top two QBs. By the time they got to the bowl game, they had lost numerous high level offensive pieces yet still ran for 650 yards at 7.68 ypc and scored 7 times (all rushing) in the bowl game. That was brilliant coaching.

Right now getting Tom Herman is a pipe dream, but getting a new OC in 2017 like veteran Tony Petersen who has ran numerous school record breaking offenses at every stop, or Kendal Briles, the understudy of one of the most wide open and explosive offensive schemes ever created, is very much in play.

Miles - King of the Offseason. He's turned it into LSU's mantra, too.

Explain this one.

Have you followed anything about TAMU the past couple of months? Pair that with the likelihood of another 8-5 season, and he is gone. I doubt they'll keep paying 5 mill for three 5 Loss seasons, a 4 loss season, and one 2 loss season.

Also, Tom Herman is itching for one of the big Texas school jobs.

Great point.!!!!! BUT.... Last November left a crappy taste in everyone's mouth. Think about where that team was. #2 in the BCS. And then what happened???

To be fair, we never should have been ranked that high to begin with. The only team we played with a pulse the first 7 games was Florida, who had just lost Will Grier for the season.

Truth is people got excited about a 7-0 LSU team and jumped the gun before we entered a murderers row schedule on the back end.

I agree. They should have not been ranked that high. But the question is..... Why did the team fall apart when it did???? We not only got beat, we got ambushed by two teams that we had more talent than... Think about it.

Dillon Gordon, JD Moore, and Vadal Alexander missed time with injury and Brandon Harris played through a sports hernia.

Brandon Allen and Chad Kelley were also two of the best QBs in the conference and our defense struggled in coverage all year.

We'll win the SECw and be in the national title hunt all season long, so no. There will be no LSU-Les Miles divorce talk.

Ok. But isn't les one of the best recruiters out there. I think so. Brandon was NOT why we lost. Our D line got demolished that game. And Ole Miss having a decent qb is an excuse. They were never in that game from the start. Think about it.

Yep. We ranked 3rd in the sec in offensive points per game,4th in the sec in offensive yards per game, and was 11th in the country in offensive yards per play. The only thing we need to get better at on offense is passing efficiency.
