How does LSU fall off of the map with a loss to WIS when no one knew how good they were and Ohio St. drops 6 spots off of a loss to a proven, non ranked Penn St. team?

Because Ohio State beat Wisconsin? Or because LSU looked like dog shite against Wisconsin? Or because LSU didn't really drop off the map until they lost to Auburn?

For reference, LSU dropped from 5 to 21 in AP poll after loss to Wisconsin

It was how bad the offense looked.

I agree 8Track, the media bias is unreal. Wisconsin was ranked at in the Top 20 when LSU played with a Top 10 ranking. We lose to Wisconsin and basically traded places with them.

Penn St. unranked beats Ohio St. who struggled last weekend and Ohio St. falls what 4 spots or so? Unreal!

The legacy of the Les Miles era is if you gain less than 250 yards and fail to get 70 in the first half, people will justifiably think you suck.

More volitility in those early polls. Smaller sampling size of games.

Meh, many people get a pass week one. Not sure I'd say because they looked like crap against Wisconsin.

Les should have never went for it on 4th on our own territory in the first half of a close game. Was absolutely idiotic and am thankful he is relieved.

The polls are just to biased IMO. Ohio St would not have dropped any lower if they would have lost to Michigan St or Wisconsin. The lost to a team that is still unranked and will not sniff a bowl. We drop 16 spots and they drop 6??? No respect.

because polls are dumb. Just because you are undefeated you get ranked high. So if you play the 6 worst teams in college football, beat them soundly, you get to be in the top 10 because you are undefeated. Is that team really a top 10 team? See Nebraska, Boise, UNC

I never understood how if you are 15th and you play the #1 team you drop if you lose. were you suppose to win? so if you don't play the #1 team and play some pitiful team, you will still climb in the polls.

In reality, there probably isn't much difference between ohio state and lsu. LSU was in position to win against wisconsin had harris not thrown the int., Ohio state needed o.t. to beat wisconsin. It's a matter of a play.

This isn't difficult. In the loss to Wisconsin our offense was terrible which would lead many to believe our usual 9-4 record was incoming. Ohio state has bee good for a few years now and their loss only makes people think 11-1 or 10-2 will be their final record. There is no indictment of program level issues that have plagued them for years like there was for Miles' Lsu.

Fair arguement for the AP poll. Not the coaches poll where SID's cast votes for their coaches while busy with their own team's schedule on Saturday.

Oklahoma is not a quality win. Fsu and OK are overrated as all get out.
Osu came down to the wire vs wisc and had to win in ot. Lsu was in fg range to beat wisc, then b Harris happened. Threw a pic. Osu didn't play any better than we did, but is ranked much higher.

It's not that hard to figure out. LSU lost opening game and looked like shite against an inferior team and clearly our preseason ranking was bs. Ohio state blew a game at the end but has been a solid team this year

If you go back and watch the Wisconsin game and how bad we looked, you wouldn't need to ask the question.

It's hard to justify a winless team ranked high.

LSU dropped to #21 after that loss. LSU was ranked behind 3 other 0-1 programs: Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and Ole Miss.

Oklahoma lost to #6 Houston, so it makes sense they'd be ahead of us
Ole Miss lost to #4 FSU, so it makes sense they'd be ahead of us
LSU lost to unranked Wisconsin, so it makes sense we'd be below other 0-1 teams
The only question mark is ND, who lost to unranked Texas

The early polls are just much more volatile considering there is less to go off of

Not to mention we fired our coach over the Wisconsin (and Auburn) losses. I mean, I don't see how you can be outraged that the polls saw the writing on the wall with our program? We as a fanbase certainly did
