Too bad the saints couldnt have a Dome set up around baton rouge maybe more people would get to see them
vodkapig hopefully this is your first and final post. if the dome was anywhere else in the state you can say bye-bye superbowl. and what do you mean more people would see them? the season has been sold out for years with a huge waiting list.

I'd consider myself an equal fan of both being from NOLA and an LSU alum. However, it would mean more to see the saints win it all.

im not mad about the deal at all. i always hated the fact the every other year benson would threaten to move the team. now they have them locked up til 2025. but i can understand why people not from nola are pissed. they see politicians all the time doing for new olreans and not other areas of the state.
my mom is from nola and my dad is from avoyelles, so i've heard both sides before.

I would personally be livid if the Saints left. I grew up more of a Saints fan than an LSU fan and I am from Gonzales, which is closer to Baton Rouge than New Orleans... almost in the middle. When I was younger I had no clue about salaries and threats of leaving and all that shite... the Saints were good then, early 90s, and LSU was not. So I was just feeding off my family and it always seemed like the Saints were our ticket to anything.
Now however, I know all about the stupid salaries and the threats of leaving and I am now more of a LSU fan than a Saints fan... but not by much. My wardrobe is either LSU one day of the Saints the next...
I just hope some kind of deal is worked out, because New Orleans needs the Saints, and Louisiana needs New Orleans.
Like someone said earlier, LSU will never leave... that is why I bleed purple and gold... but I do love my Saints.

I think most people who were disappointed by the deal were disappointed because the state is still paying the Saints to be here while making huge cuts in education health care.
All most all of the money in that deal other than leasing the office space is coming from the bedget surplus. Which is money that is for one time use only, so it could not be used for education or health care.

I live and die with LSU.
I couldn't care less about the NO saints.
I dont know all the players, further more usually dont know who they are playing until I happen to catch them on TV on sundays or sportcenter during the week.
I dont give damn what yall say... not all, but a big part of the folks that consider themselves saints fans are different crowd.
I noticed it during the saints games in NOLA I have atteneded and damn sure noticed the trashy fricks when they played in BR couple years ago.

I have no problem with the Saints. I just hate Tom Benson
I love LSU first because they produce winners ... I don't hate Tom Benson and I'll never be sold as a Saints fan ... so long as you have a wealthy owner who does not (just because your ver rich, doesn't make that person a bright person when it comes to sports) ... The man "Benson" and his grand-daughter will never bring a consistent winner with S.B. potential to the state of LA or N.O. for that fact ... they are in it, to line their own pockets first, not bring in a great G.M. who can draft consitently and make trades that will bring the Saints to the top ... thus I will root for them as a LA citizen and not win Championships.
Thus - LSU is a big first but the Saints can keep some money in the state but they are a distant SECOND ...
NO B.R. has notthing to do with the subject her, JMHO...

quote:This has historically been somewhat true of the whole state vs. New Orleans. For the longest time, the rest of the state resented the fact that New Orleans was the seat of all money and power in the state by virtue of being far and away the largest city. As that margin narrowed, and the center of power and wealth started moving ever so slightly north and west in the state, the resentment began to run the other way as well. As populations have become more transitory in the modern era, the regional resentments have lost some of their potency, but the undertones still exist.
Do some people people in BR hate all things NOLA? yes. Same with some people in NOLA hating all things non-NOLA

I was born and raised in SE LA. For all my years of wacthing football, I have always been an LSU fan and depised the Aints. And yes, I am a COWBOYS' fan and proud of it. Now that I live in Lafayette, nothing has changed. I depise the aints along with U La LA. You don't have to live in NE LA to hate the aints and to be a COWBOYS fan.

But the question was "Do you think the new deal between LA and the Saints was a good one?"
Even if you're a Cowboy fan you should still be able to see that LA as a whole gains from the Saints being here.

I am from north LA and love LSU....I used to love the saints too, until Benson pulled his bullshite during the hurricane....I still pull for them, but no longer watch them every sunday like I did for decades...
to be clear, I don't think there is a big connection between liking the saints and the numbers the numbers that you posted.....I like the saints, but am not in favor of making the benson family richer while the state ponders budget cuts...

Not saying there aren't trashy Saints fans but do you ever walk around at LSU games. You don't have to look under to many tents to find trash of all kinds.

nope, too busy gaurding my tailgating spot.
FWIW, the trashy LSU fans hang out by the nicholson drive area.
Im on other side of campus.

I always thought once you had tailgate spot it was yours till you died and if anyone took it you could call the cops?
At least at Saints games the trashy women are good to look at.
