2013 wasnt as great as people remember. The offense was great at the beginning then went to complete and utter shite again midway through the year

Football outsiders has us #3 in offensive efficiency for 2013.

We scored 34 and 31 in our last 2 regular season games, completely dismantling A&M with 517 yards despite calling the dogs off. We had 470 against Arky

Is he the one suggesting that we need to do the same shite we do every year for the Bama game?

Then probably not.

I'm under the impression Miles signs off on all or most of the offensive plays

We are trying to run a pro style offense in a college game and it will not work. There are not very any or very few quarterback that can do this. It takes years to develop abs for this. Even after ther get to the nfl it takes more years.Other successful college teams are using the QB in more creative ways. Example Auburn and Nick Marshall. Malzahn made a great college QB out of him but he will play defense in the nfl if he plays at all. We use Harris as if he's Drew Breese or Payton Maning. Even with Mett, Landry, Becham and Hill we still weren't that great offensively

Your whole post was dumb but this was the worst

We averaged 6.4 yards/play

I think it doesn't matter. LSU doesn't need a super offensive guru to make their offense productive. They just need to run a more balanced style that isn't structured to run the ball heavily (not just heavily but VERY HEAVILY).

I think its crazy to think Cam Cameron wouldn't know how to run a standard passing offense after all his years in the NFl.

I think it would have been really obvious in his time as an NFL coach if wanted to run this shittastic offense.

I have hated Cams offense since day 1. Even as the Mett/OBJ/Landry/Hill combo was successful, it didn't appear that the success came as a result of scheme...except he did seem comfortable throwing a slant or cross then.

I will just say this. I watch football to enjoy it. This Offensive brand of football, when it works (ala Auburn) is possibly the most enjoyable thing one can watch. But far too often it is painful. If we are going to lose, and not win SEC championships...I think I would at least like to have an Offense that can compliment a defense and be entertaining.

Doesn't matter if we had Sean Payton as OC we would look the exact same on offense as long as Les Miles is the head coach.

I think Cam is being held back by Les Miles. It's the same offense the last few years.

If people are still blaming the coordinater for the offensive struggles then you obviously haven't been watching LSU football since LES has been here

Cam sucks. There's a reason the Dolphins got rid of his butt after their worst season in history.

Yet the Ravens hired him soon after???

Your post makes no sense.

So you liked the offense before Cam Cameron became OC?

You know, those years with Jefferson and Lee?

we don't need an offense guru (wouldn't mind having one though but that's not going to a happen). We just need to work with what we have which is CAm.

Cam/Miles are not idiots (although they sometimes appear to be). They realize that we have to run a better offense system than what we currently are. You can see evidence of this as the season has progressed that we are incorporating a lot more modern concepts into the offense. Such as using the shotgun, such as trying to throw to the TE , three wr sets, such as using motion, such as using some misdirection plays at times, such as using the read option, such as QB run plays.

Lot of things we were doing as the season progressed other than just lining up in the I formation and running into stacked boxes or going for the home run pass.

Go watch pro games from the last 10 years, then watch every game of the last 5 years for LSU, and come back and see if you still think we are running a "pro-style" offense.

Its fricking hilarious that people think LSU is anything close to a pro-style offense.

LSU doesn't even have a "college-style" offense. LSU is playing slow footed rugby.

Where did Les see he thought/knew this? What indicated this at all?

He thinks we need to "execute better", but he thinks the style of offense is "fine".

in theory it really is a pro style offense, just doesn't look anything like what actual pro teams do these days. The NFL is a pass happy league that uses a lot of modern offense concepts

only an idiot would believe that and MIles is no idiot, neither is Cam. He probably just says that to throw off the competition and to not give his team and inferiority complex

I think he is. He's been successful other places. I still believe Miles makes him run a vanilla offense if the quarterback isn't ready

Miles haters aren't ready to consider this a possibility.

Our offense is completely vanilla all the way around - running or passing. I have no issues with being a run-first team. I prefer that. But how we run (and pass) is ridiculously predictable. We show very few different looks to confuse defenses. Miles has said it himself that LSU is a "predictable bunch." It doesn't have much to do with the QB at this point.

Right, because in todays day and age with big athletic defensive lines, you MUST do something to make defenses honor the whole field you can not allow them to move into the lines and stuff you, and let them dictate your down and distance.

Remember 30 years ago, every best player in the NFL was a running back. Now they are interchangeable almost. Offensive philosophies have evolved in every level of football.
