Does anyone else think Cam Cameron is not the right person for OC?

I was talking to some people on another site and they were all saying Les Miles is basically the offensive coordinator, so it wouldn't matter if they fired Cam and hired Mike Leach. I seem to remember things being different when Crowton or anyone else was the OC though. It also heavily depends on the quarterback.

I think Harris has a similar level of talent to Mettenberger, but I think he's taking too long to develop in part because of the current OC/QB coach. I don't think it's Miles' fault when the QB goes 6/19. You either have to look at the QB coach/OC or the player himself. Am I the one who's crazy here?

I realize the rest of the offense has something to do with that, but they have talent too. Does Les butt into offensive line position issues?

The Baltimore Ravens won the Super Bowl when he was the OC... After they fired him. Enough said.

I think he is. He's been successful other places. I still believe Miles makes him run a vanilla offense if the quarterback isn't ready

I formation seems to be a very popular formation no matter what.

There is a place for I formation, but the cupboard seemed bare once we tried that and "throw really far" stopped working.

Crowton would have plenty of innovative plays after a bye week.

In 2012, even though Mett struggled early that season, we still ended up averaging over 200 passing yards per game. He was throwing it all over by the time we got to Bama.

How many OCs would that be under Miles if Cam is let go? Maybe its the head man and not the coordinator?

Miles doesn't have the faith in any young qb. Look at past history. It doesn't matter who the oc is. Miles has his hands all over the offense and always will.

All the pick 6s warped the man.
I have to admit I would rather have Crowton. How f'd is that?

So there was Jimbo who got another job, then Crowton... Where is he again? lol

Kragthorpe doesn't count since he actually never called a game.

Stud - pretty much fired

And now Cam...

I agree that there is a place for the I formation. However, 3rd and 16 late in the 3rd qtr when you are losing by double digits is not the time nor the place.

That fact that you are asking this question tells me you don't get it. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHO THE OC IS, MILES CONTROLS THE OFFENSE.

It is amazing that we've had 4 OC's in 10 years and all of them had the toss dive in their playbook. Please use some common sense. Someone earlier posted Les Miles offensive numbers when he was the OC at Oklahoma State in the 90's, it is amazingly similar to what our current run/pass numbers look like today.

Yes, I don't think Cameron is the right guy for the job.

Seriously, what will it take for y'all to understand that Miles is running the Offense?

I thought it was a widely known but perhaps not. Sheeeeeeeeet.

Cam sucks. There's a reason the Dolphins got rid of his butt after their worst season in history.

What will it take for people to realize that the offense has changed over the years?

Les doesn't know that many plays. If Cameron isn't providing additional plays like Crowton and Studwara did, then he needs to be replaced.

How many OCs

Disregarding the makeshift OC situation in 2012, this is his third.

Jimbo was/is pretty boring too. I know he won a national championship now, but that's not because Winston followed the playbook to the letter.

Crowton was a good complement to Les, but he had too many goofy and complicated plays that you could tell the players hadn't always digested.

For instance, he was part of the problem in the Tennessee game with his "multiplicity of personnels" as Les described it. Les threw his headphones away and called his own play, and they scored. I don't know if they do that if they have a protracted conversation again before the final play.

I don't think Cam adds anything. Maybe that's why Les hired him, but I think if there were someone arguing for a different approach, it would help at least somewhat.
