Sorry to say no, he does not have quick feet and seems to not pick out second and third receivers.

But I have to say he did not have good protection and the game plans were terrible.

With a consistent OL in front of him, and a viable deep threat that can break press coverage and get behind the safety, abso-fricken-lutely.

Dude throws the deep out as well as any college QB since JR.

He's got NFL arm talent. Not very mobile, but that's ok. Just need WRs to stretch the field and OL to give him time and he'll fire it all over the field.

With jr high pocket awareness and pee wee football accuracy. We need the Cowboy's o line from the 90's for Mett to be
successful.

I do not think that there is much more than ANY offensive coordinator or QB coach could do to enhance the ability or productivity of ZM.

First lets talk about a championship offense. If you look at quarterbacks like Manziel who pose a double threat to a defense not only tiring them out by forcing them to chase him but knowing when and who to dish the ball too. Mettenberger can't even get out of the pocket or know when to step up to avoid a rush and much less throw on the run or run for a first down. So that leaves LSU's offense limited to a quarterback that stays in the pocket and limited play selection. Even if there were a quarterback on the bench that could do it LES MILES would let and idot humiliate the whole team before he would plan the right one. HEADCoach for A&M was questioned up and down why he was starting a freshman ahead of a veteran. He answers because he is the best man for the job and got him a HEISMAN TROPHY. Not to put all of the blame on Mettenberger but Les MIles would not know what to do with a quarterback like Manziel because of his basic grade school style offense. He would only be able to match a quarterback like Jefferson or Mettenberger that has only one good quality of being a quarterback not all of the above. Maybe thats why he recruits those styles cause thats all he can accommodate. In fact if I were an all around quarterback I would never waste my time to play for an offense like LSU that is so conservative to kill the clock rather than play to kill on every down with great mix up of plays and making smart play calling and that in turn will educate a quarterback how to adjust and make good decisions ALL game long. You can't adjust if there is no game plan with adjustments. It starts with a non adjusting very limited coach Mr. Lesser Miles that doesn't know how to make his talent shine consistantly and with discipline cause he has none himself...............PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!! IT's A Wake up call that LSU will never see because the brain of the offense is the COACH AND QUARTERBACK GOTTA have BOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LSU's defense is the only thing to talk about and thats not because of LES MILES but a good defensive coordinator that is saving LES MILES his job!!!!!!!!The day will come when his luck will run out!!!!!!!!!

I have faith in Mett. I don't have faith in the offensive coaches.

It depends on the kind of protection he gets since he can't maneuver at all. With him at the helm I figure we'll go 9-3, maybe 10-2 next season.

Doesn't take paragraphs to get a point across. It's the same thing that LSU can't see and thats what the real point is!!!!!!! Got it!!!!!!!

No team has ever been humiliated in a championship game by a quarterback and offensive coordinator like LSU has and thats coming from the whole countries point of view. Even women that don't know that much about football were saying what is he doing. So who's to blame. It happens over and over in clutch situations and we always fall short and even look like we should have never made it that far. Why does it keep happening and the finger gets pointed in every direction but the right way. LSU has way too much talent to be playing that way, wouldn't you agree!! You make the call!

I actually do.

I think he sees what could've been and will come out swinging next year to make himself millions in the draft. The physical tools are there. The preparation and footwork practice just needs to come.

Why not...he improved, passing yardage wise, in the back part of the season already and he threw for more yds this season than any QB since 08...I believe.

I'm more concerned with our OL for next yr and our passing defense which took a nosedive as the season progressed.

His passing ability and accuracy is mediocre at best.

This. Other than overthrowing, I don't think there is much more you can teach him. What was funny was that I posted in his first LSU spring game when he floated the ball sixty yards deep like a little mini blimp, wasn't going to work in live games. People where in awe about that and now you see him overthrow his deep ball almost every single time.

Thing is he has thrown for a hundred more yards this season than any other time in his career(high school and JUCO). Everything transferred over from JUCO but the TDs as he usually got intercepted in the RZ this year.

OK the dude is slower than caves forming but if we have great OL protection, than I believe he could be really good.

He's been pampered too much, Les should have Rivers or Bolden ready to take snaps as soon as Mett starts screwing things up. Les has got to bring Mett back down from his arrogant state of mine he's in right now. The dude does not look like a team leader on the sidelines, he needs to man up his final year or he'll follow JJ to Canada for a spot on the practice squad.
