I have faith and hope in him. Bit he has to focus on improving...
1) quicker reads to get the ball out faster
2) more air under deep passing. Tendency to overthrow the long ball
3) accuracy with roll out situations...improve mechanics

He can't fix the fat he is slow footed, but he can work on mechanics re: the above if he wants to be upper echelon performer for LSU and in the SEC next year and be a serious NFL QB in the draft.

No. I did until he missed a WIDE OPEN Jarvis Landry on an easy screen pass that would have pretty much sealed the deal in the Chicken Bowl.

Fulshear Tiger said it all.

zm is the absolute SLOWEST qb i've seen in 30 yrs. his LACK of mobility leaves two options with him: hand it off or throw it... there is no elusiveness to scramble and gain 3 - 5 yds. none.

zm is the anti-Johnny Manziel. zm is a qb that you don't worry about at ALL outside the pocket.

I don't think we can win a championship with him. I want to see Rivers and Randall playing.

His play against Alabama, MSU, and Ole Miss was terrific. Just need more consistency from him and the O-line.

His performance in the Ole Miss game was particularly impressive. He was getting drilled and still making great reads and throws.

this and his pocket awareness is crap.

i thought i would see decided improvements in his game from game 1 to game 13 but i really didn't. i think the the leaarning curve with a battered OL was pretty steep though.

You know, I can't help but think that karma is at play here. I mean, everybody hated our option offense with JJ and couldn't wait until we finally got a pocket passer at QB. And then we have the unfortunatel privilege of having such a pocket passer that he probably couldn't out run a 2nd grade girl if she got through our line (totally possible btw )

But seriously though, without a good OL ZM will always struggle. Better to face that fact now people

My faith in him is about equal to the faith I had in Jefferson.

Then you are more stupid than you prob look.

Yes I have faith in him, as should all LSU fans.
He's not scared to stand in pocket and deliver the ball.
He's not a dumbass.
Physically he can make all the throws.

With that said he needs to continue to work hard and improve this offseason.

This is true. People saying they have no faith in Mett and that he sucks are straight up retards. The kid absolutely shredded Bama's defense to the tune of nearly 300 yards through the air. Had back to back to back 250+ yard games (298, 273, and 282). Then again, I guess most of the people on here could step into the SEC and come out slinging like Joe Montana from Day 1.

What-A-Berger needs to lose the stone feet and make better decisions. Right now faith is at a JJ/JL level, all time low.

In the month of November he threw for 1068 yard, which was about 40% of his season total in 4 games. In that span his completion % was 61.65% with a 2:1 TD:Int ratio. He definitely improved down the stretch of the season.

No. Not because of his arm or decision making, but because of his feet. Dude has the slowest feet on the planet, and has terrible pocket awareness in regards to avoiding pressure. Defenses are way too fast off the edge and up the middle, and you don't have to have a really fast guy in the pocket, but you do need someone athletic enough to avoid pressure.

No, I knew the second I saw his release that he would be average at best in our offense. He is almost useless at a basic slant pass b/c of this. He has some talent, but it will take elite pass blocking to see consistency! And the guy would probably manage to still overthrow Usain Bolt!!
