The NCAA isn't really trying to hide the fact they are trying to grow the game in the north.

They'd better find a way to legislate the fricking weather, then. Because as long as it remains cold/rainy/snowy up north in late Feruary/March, teams are going to open their seasons down south.

Yeah, I'd be really pissed if I was a Kentucky fan. I mean what more do they have to do?

ETA: I guess not get swept swept in the final series of the year.

I'll say this...as the seeds were being announced, and they got down to #6 and still no LSU, I was getting kind of nervous. It was almost like last year when I kept watching and waiting, and still no LSU.

The committee has shown that they're going to punish sec teams with shitty nonconference schedules. We can either live with maybe being ranked a little lower or schedule better opponents and get rewarded for it like Florida did this year.

Agreed. Outside of Appy State our non-conference schedule stunk. It's not great, but a little better next year.

Didn't we schedule and sweep Cal St Fullerton last year? And didn't they end up a top 8 national seed? And we still got screwed.

I think the winner of the SEC is worth a top 4 seed at the worst. But it doesnt matter as long as you get one and it will awesome watching UF implode.

Yes. That said, they have a better draw than UF did at #1. The road to Omaha begins and ends at the Box, so I'm happy.

I expected a 6 so I wasn't far off. LSU lost four series this season. That's a lot. Also our OOC schedule is bad and they care about that.

I laughed at the people saying we'd get a top 3 seed last week.

Well, if you want to get all technical about it, the road to Omaha ends in Omaha.

But I get your meaning, my brutha.

who cares we can play in BR all the way to Omaha so I'm ok with the 7 seed

the difference between top 8 and non top 8 host is huge

the difference between #1 and #8 isn't that much

If you want something 5 or higher with that OOC SOS it is.

I understand that. What I'm saying is, what if next year we go 19-11 and don't win the SEC? Going by this year, we wouldn't be a top seed because the NCAA would rather put people like Oregon and UCLA up there that aren't really that deserving.

The seed doesn't really bother me after I saw the other national seeds. I like being in our half of the bracket than the other half in Omaha.

When I saw the regional host sites I thought Miami was the weakest so happy to be paired with them.

Who's cares man? We got a relatively easy road to Nebraska playing @ home in the most daunting environment in college baseball. Also, I love the side of the bracket we're on in the CWS. So glad we avoided the Gators til the finals
