The NCAA isn't really trying to hide the fact they are trying to grow the game in the north. See Purdue, Michigan State, even Oregon to a certain extent. It's going to be at the expense of the SEC.

Sucks but we better get used to it.

Redistribution of wealth bullshite.

I know it doesn't really matter just as long as you get a top 8 seed.

i know it was some funny shite you had some people saying 2 or 3 seed and some saying we wouldn't get a top 8 at all. i was thinking 5-7 im happy the way it worked out.

I understand that. What I'm saying is, what if next year we go 19-11 and don't win the SEC? Going by this year, we wouldn't be a top seed because the NCAA would rather put people like Oregon and UCLA up there that aren't really that deserving.

Kentucky's week OOC schedule hurt them, so only if we had a similar OOC as kentucky we probably would be in the same situation.

the committee takes into account more then just SEC reg season record as I just explained.

Not as if it matters, but why was that unrealistic last week after winning the SEC and taking a series on the road from South Carolina? Seemed realistic for anyone that felt that way considering what we had done.

No way a 7. A 3 or 4 is what we earned. The selection people really are idiots

they counted the tournament.

you wish they only counted the regular season, but they counted the SEC T.

I can't complain with being paired with the shitty Canes for a super regional, but I do think that the NCAA committee deliberately penalized SEC teams this year ... again.

It makes a difference if we get to Omaha on the caliber pitcher we could face in the first game. I remember Skip talking about this on several occasions.

I have a feeling that Kentucky's misfortune was simply the result of not yet participating in the SEC baseball arms race. Their stadium is a joke and if the post-season bidding process is still in effect, then they came to the poker table empty-handed.

Everyone's gonna have an ace (or 2) once we get to Omaha. Besides, I'll put KG against anyone in the country.

Also, when Skip coached the game had less parity & you needed 3 SP to get through the bracket in Omaha.

The most important thing here is who our 2 seed is (Oregon State, pretty salty), who we're paired up w/ for Supers (Miami, probably the weakest 1 seed out there) & who's on our side of the bracket in Omaha (or not in our bracket in this case Florida & USCe).

All-in-all, we don't have much room to complain. Anyone upset about being a "low seed" is missing the big picture.

As would I, but the true difference in the regionals is how well is Eades going to do against #3? What is working so well for MSU right now, is they are getting quality performances out of every pitcher, not just Stratton. Both Nola and Eades really need to tighten up a notch.

Nola has looked dominant, just always seems to run into 1 bad inning. Think we need to save him for Super regionals game 3. & be ready to run cotton out there at the 1st sign of trouble.

Eades on the other hand, he should hopefully be matched up w/ Oregon States 4th starter Sunday night (assuming everything goes chalk & they burn #3 Sunday AM vs Belmont to stay alive).

Isn't that proven to be false by Florida and USC? Anyone objective would judge LSU to be between 5 and 10 in the country. That's what we got.

More respect should have been in order, however, all we have to do is play decent ball and we are in Omaha. Let the ESPN weenies suck up to the other teams and then.........and then.....and....theeeennnnn........

You were one of the most negative people all year in the PBP threads and now you're bitching that LSU doesn't get enough credit?

Ironic.

Blah blah blah.........when the team deserves to be criticized, I'm not scared to do it, unlike some of you pussies. I'm a realist, I don't always have on the purple and gold glasses.
