I don't care for his "doom and gloom" attitude when the Tigers get behind, besides that he's a good announcer. I have ran into him twice, once at a gas station that was out of propane and he was looking for a refill, he was pissed and when I said "hi" he had a bit of a attitude. The next time he had a bit of road rage going on and tried to pass me on shoulder of the road, sorry Jim, Honda Accords shouldn't take on Dodge 2500 HD's! LOL he did flip me off though, probably didn't realize I recognized him.

He gets paid to call the games and promote the athletic department.

He's horrible at both.

He should give back the money he took.

Didn't indicate fan or not. Just telling you that coaches shows the world over are like that. I'd bet it's in the contract regarding what is allowed to be asked. You probably think WWE is real too, don't you?

I had to stop listening. I just wait for Hanni and Co. for post game.

Me too...thank God for them. I'm stuck in Shreveport with NO credible sports radio...am thrilled to death I can listen to Hanni on the internet now.

BTW, those fans who say they can't imagine LSU broadcasts without Hawthorne obviously never had the good fortune to have experienced John Ferguson. Present day, I offer up Jim Henderson as the gold standard of the type of broadcaster LSU should strive to have. Not saying Henderson could or would be interested in doing LSU in addition to the Saints, but he is the classic example of a broadcaster who doesn't get in the way of the story of the game.

In referring to naked pics, this is the second time someone has called insinuating Les is being blackmailed to play Jefferson.

Funny shite. Thanks for the link.

OK...you know where I can get an application then??? I'll hand it to my sister. She knows nothing about most of LSU athletics, but she can at least get the players names right

For the record, I have no problem with Jim Hawthorne at all. When I listen to games on the radio, I have no problem following the action and a lot of his slip-ups are quickly corrected - no problem
Yeah, the only time I've ever had a problem figuring out what was going on is if I was doing something other than focusing on the game while trying to listen to it. Otherwise, like you said, it's not mistake-free, but you can easily figure out what's going on.

"And Cresse drives one in to deep center, way back, WAAAAYYYY BACK, WAAAY BACK, THIS BALL COULD BE OUTTA HERE.................ohhhh... caught by the centerfielder just before the warning track" "man what a great ballplayer"
