Who would we play from the Big 12?

If TTU beats OU, we'd play OU.

If OU wins, either TTU or Texas.

ETA: This assumes that the winner of the South will beat Missouri.

So there would be 6 freaking BCS Bowl games? 12 teams? That's getting a little ridiculous.

No. There would be 10 teams in the BCS. Five preliminary BCS games - Cotton, Fiesta, Rose, Sugar, Orange. Two of those games would be national semifinals, the other three would just be bowl games. Then, the championship game would rotate among sites.

You couldn't create plus-one with just the current bowls without downsizing to 8 teams, which is not going to happen... So to go to a plus-one, you need another game, and it HAS to be the Cotton Bowl.

Nope, just allow the Cotton to have the fifth slot and take the ability away from the other four BCS games to have two bowl games (which is happening now).

With that said, you would have to let all four BCS sites have their shot at having two games for their 'double bowl year.' But once that's over, then institute the Cotton Bowl as a BCS game.

No. The defending National Champs in the next state over. Not to mention we match up WAY better against any Big 12 team than Notre Dame. The Cotton Bowl wants to be taken more seriously--taking Notre Dame would not help that.

It has nothing to do with matchups...it's all about $ and ND's fan base travels well.

But isn't the Cotton tied in to take Big 12 vs. SEC?

OK, my bad, actually read the article and see where ND can go...

Kind of. They can also pick Notre Dame.

LSU fans would travel well. The game is on Friday afternoon. Most ppl would come up and spend the weekend in Dallas. Plus there is a large alumni base in Dallas. I think it is second to Houston in out of state alumni.

Funny, I was able to walk into their team hotel, straight up to their school's reception desk, and buy two sweet 30 yd line tickets at face value, a day before the last Sugar Bowl they played in.

They sure do a great job perpetuating myths, though, I have to say.

Is there a real chance they would pass on a 9-3 LSU for a 7-6 ND?

We can only hope so. I don't want any part of any Big XII team in a bowl this year. Any of Texas, OU, TTech, Mizzou and Okie State would put up an embarrassing number of points on us.

Speaking of Okie State, that might be an angle the Cotton tries for, since both LSU and OSU should still be available when it's the Cotton's turn. But they may go for a higher Big XII team if they're available. I bet they would love to get Texas and Notre Dame.

As for us, we're better off going to the Peach Bowl and facing some ACC team, or maybe the Outback against a Big Ten team.

No it doesn't. The Chick-Fil-A Bowl will make a serious play for it, too, and they might get it.

I hope the cotton does pick ND. I want to see an elite Big XII team hang 150 on them. I think the TT second string QB could hang 75 on them.

That says a lot more about Notre Dame than it does about us.

The Cotton gets the Big 12 #2, so that will most likely rule out OSU. A good chance it'll be Mizzou if they lose the CG.

I think having th Cotton Bowl in the new stadium will help them beat out anything the Peach Bowl/Chick-Fil-A Bowl throws out there. It will be bigger and nicer than the Ga Dome

So do we lose on Senior Day to Ole Miss or @ Arkansas?

I think UL-L folks would be ticked off about this more than anyone. Their hearts are set on the NO Bowl or Independence Bowl. If ND takes an SEC spot, that would likely hinder the SBC's chances of landing a second team in one of the SEC's unfulfilled bowl slots.

I really can't see it happening...I hope we make the Cotton Bowl cause I would much rather play OU than play OSU in the Cap. one
