The back up had more game experience than our starter.

anada's backup QB played in 1 game last year when the first QB was hurt.
This is useful analysis and pretty telling.

hat may be enough to persuade LSU's back-up QB next year not to transfer.

You will not have same class studs both stick around, no matter the mop up duty allowed.

if they dont pan out as the starter, they will hit the road. That is what QBs do now, 100%. I don't want to save a redshirt to help UNC or TTU out down the road.

This! Which is why allowing significant snaps in 2017 and 2018 for whomever is the LSU back-up will be significant for LSU's football team. It may be enough for LSU's back-up to feel like he's helping in a significant way in leading LSU to victory, that he's viewed as an important piece of this LSU team.

Yea, the snaps for the backup QB were in the bowl game and the starter got hurt. The backup was 3-9 for 16 yards. Pitt lost the game also.

How many snaps did the backups under Coach O get last season, even in blowout losses? I don't recall any except when QB1 was hurt for a play or two.
The options at backup were very very limited last year, and you had a starting QB who needed experience.

mmcgrath, I like the way you think. Not politically necessarily, but hell, it is football season

TrueTigerTale, your first mistake was starting a new post period. No one can make a post before ranters rips them a new one by at least the 3rd reply.

What is the "kool-aid" about thinking our options were limited at backup? Were McMillan and Scott such great options? Harris was limited as much by circumstances.

Why, so everyone can jerk each other off over there? , but it is nice to have the season getting revved up!

I personally think game experience is kind of overrated. I feel that if they are prepared and coached well the play kinda takes care of itself.

I will admit that if you go into a hostile stadium and things go south that a little experience is good to have, but even at that most back up time is not in comparable situations.

Reshirt would be a waste. Nobody stays around that long anymore

The only thing more hilarious than you thinking they've scripted the season for 3 QBs is you thinking Orgeron doesn't have any input on who plays or doesn't play.

Is it a reading comprehension problem plus a hearing deficit or are you just believing Coach O's words. Repeatedly he has stated that his biggest screw up Ole Miss was his trying to run the whole show.
O stated that he was letting his coaches coach. It would be down right stupid to bring in a Coach like Canada and then tie him up with interference.
He is going to let the man earn that big salary.

Coach O is going to burn two redshirts this year at the QB position? That's a bold move there cotton.

Might as well. If they don't play they'll just transfer anyway

These are just a few of a long list of sports athletes and their analysis, who questioned over the years why Les Miles would not allow significant snaps for his back-up QB's at LSU.

Because Les fricking Miles was either the greatest offensive genius the world has ever known, or a complete imbecile.

Dude would be up by 30 in the middle of the 3rd and his backup QB would get in the game with 2 minutes to go.

When it comes to QBs, Les Miles was arguably the stupidest mother fricker in the history of sport.

And ya know what. Les fricking Miles isn't here anymore.

LSU plays BYU in 2 Saturdays. IDGAF if Les Miles is pissing himself and wearing a diaper right now. He's not our problem anymore.
