I mean I just don't know why coach O would even say what he said yesterday if he wasn't already looking at life without Canada. He could have Les Milesed the questions about Canada but no he was too quick to give him away, that's why I say something is up.

I don't think Ensminger will be the offensive coordinator if Canada leaves. I've read in many articles that Steve doesn't want to be an offensive coordinator again. I think Coach O was referring to Ensminger being an interim OC if Canada leaves before the bowl game.

If Canada leaves and Ensminger is named OC, whatever goodwill O has built up the second half of the season disappears immediately.

With the schedule next year, we can’t afford to miss on a second rate retread OC.

If it means going back to smash mouth football, I'm for it. It (smash mouth football) is the right thing to do if you have the horses to do it. When I say the "right horses", I mean a dominant OL and a nasty defense beginning with the front 7. That's how we did in 2011, and that's how Alabama has done it for years. Why do you think Ridley is open all the time? Because the run sets up the pass. This would also require a competent QB. If Narcisse is as good as everyone says he is, and his knees hold up, he would be ideal.

Ensminger may have said he didn't want it to tow the company line. No way O gets the job last year by hiring Ensminger as OC. If O didn't get the job Ensminger would have been looking for a job with the rest of Miles' staff. Now that O has the job he can hire whoever he wants. I have a hard time believing SE would turn down the OC position and money. That's a nice retirement chunk of money before retirement.

It would be a bizarre thing to say if there were no internal conversations about Canada leaving. I think it's perfectly reasonable to think Canada's on the way out as of right now. Things can always change though.

He needs to clarify since he's so honest in his pressers then.

"Lied his fricking arse off..." And yet there are those who claim not to hate Coach O, rather, it's just professional criticism. Note the number of negative threads vs positive ones after a great win last nite against the aggies.Point made.

Stop with the nonsense. Alleva isn’t going to let O hire Ensminger as the permanent O cood. Coach O will have little say in who the next O cood. will be. O is a pon for Alleva. Alleva will hire what is suppose to be a top O cood. And he’ll tell Coach to just continue to let the cood do their job.

You don't have to do this. A lot of known coaches (Franklin, Stoops, Meyer), have grabbed OCs from lower, power 5, group of 5, and FCS teams.

We can get one of those guys from 6-700k. If we go after the Gilbert guy I want, we might need to go for 8-900k,

It's not going to happen. There would be an outside hire

I have said for months the two most reliable canaries in the LSU football mine for the health of the program are Canada and Aranda. If either or both start looking elsewhere, things do not look good for the long term prospects of the program.

Why would you think either would be here for the long term? If they have success they will move on, that's how it works. If they don't have success then we move on.

This was the whole problem with the Orgeron hire.

And is this why the CEO rotating door model of “I’ll just hire the top coordinators and let them coach.” is not a recipe for sustained success.

In his post game press conference last night Orgeron made the implication that Canada's looking for other opportunities.

Yea I just read the bit on the home page.

Not sure why O would openly state he hopes Canada got a HC job, even if he does think that.
