I'm about to go way out in left field here, but I wonder if Miles has an ultimatium of some kind from Alleva or higher up. I just get the feeling the pressure has finally been put on him to produce or else. The Garrett and Spencer "cuts". Other kids suddenly getting medical redshirts. It's like all of sudden he's doing whatever it takes to put together the best team to win.

And for the record, I'm not entirely sure that's a bad thing. It's just going completely against everything he's done his first 5 years here.

cutting garrett doesn't seem to logically fit in with this

I agree. This whole thing is strange.

reading the story, Garrett wasn't happy with his opportunities at LSU. Said he was def 3rd in the pecking order and got less snaps in the spring game than promised.

frick. I really thought he had a good outlook on the future.

This is a strange story. This doesn't make any sense at all.

right, getting rid of your 3rd string QB when we actually had to use 3 QBs a couple yrs ago is a good thing.

First two thoughts:

1. Kid never really seemed that engaged. I've never heard of a kid ask the head coach not to play in the Spring Game because "he felt it wasn't his time."

2. Probably a good choice if he wants to get his football career cranking. My biggest concern on this team is that our QB's aren't receiving the coaching they need.

even if lee makes it he's still 2-3 years away from starting all while missing spring practice as the baseball team's possible ace?

Yes. LSU could be in an incredibly poor position at QB in 2 years.

We all better hope that Lee is such a good football player, that he wouldn't go pro in baseball in 3 years. Of course, that's only an issue if we somehow dodge the bullet and he actually makes it to LSU full time.

well, looks like we need at least 2 QBs in this class.

unless for some reason the coaches would rather go with Barrett Bailey/Zach Lee(maybe) then CG? I mean that's the only explanation here. That they feel they have other QB's on the roster or coming in that are better that CG. And in the past, CG would stay and take up space and maybe even play over somebody else. Now, he's gone.

That is a very valid concern.
