Tigers fans want to see some good football but have turned into some what of spoiled kids. Nick and early Les gave us around 10 years of really good football but since Bama rolled LSU at the end of 2011 we all know the story.

Les needed to be fired and I would say at least 95% of Tiger fans would have hit the fire button. Joe put in CEO as Head Coach and I really think that Joe bought into CEO and put him as his #3 guy in the order of things. We know what happened to #1 and #2 and Joe turned to #3 CEO knowing he would get a yes to the job offer.

Now it starts with the 70% of the Tiger fans that wanted a name guy to come take over a Top shelf program or wanted the young gun on the move up. We all wanted a Nick type hire but we got CEO.

The season starts with, show me something you Ole Miss reject from the bayou. The high crust bunch that you see often posting on this forum hate CEO because he is common folk below the standards of a Sunday brunch invite. They are also in-bedded in media material that you see rolled out for LSU and CEO these days. Nothing Coach O talks about being football oriented hits the waves but jogging without a shirt or saying something about chicken on the stick makes ESPN prime time.

That all said, what this bunch needed to break out total hell on CEO was the MSU game. "See I told you" this bum is in totally over his head. This will be the worst season in the history of LSU football. Not only will CEO be fired but Joe will be out with him.

The MSU game was bad enough but no one expected worse to show up but in life I am use to worst. Worst looks like your best friend being the dude that your wife ran off with. For CEO his best friend's name was Troy.

I have to tell you that I thought the worst about the season but I thought after a few days to just hold on until the Gator game. CEO/Aranda/Canada will have to pull it together to beat a bad Gator team at the Swamp. They did - they won with fight but it was ugly.

Auburn week at Baton Rouge and Auburn has not beaten the Tigers in Baton Rouge since - 1999. Auburn is favored by 7 points. Auburn goes up on LSU 20-0.

It's 23-7 and Danny throws a pick late in the first half right to the Auburn DB but he drops it. Danny then followed that with his best throw as a Tiger and we see one of the best catches ever by a Tiger in the back of the end-zone. 23-14 at the half.

Aranda does his 1/2 time magic, Auburn doesn't score in the 2nd half. We get a great punt return TD - 23-21 and then it goes to CEO. It's late in the game and it's 4th down and 1 foot - kick a FG or go for it ???

Do I have faith in my FG kicker ? CEO calls a 2nd time out so not to rush his kicker and sends him out to make it. We all know it's good. 24-23 - LSU !

While CEO is making all the right calls - Guz who has been to the National Championship Game twice calling plays can't do one thing right. When he should have went for it with 4th down and less than 1 he kicked and LSU moved the ball. He ends up with 4th and 10 with all 3 time outs around his own 24 yard-line and goes for it. LSU takes over works the clock and hits our go ahead by 4 FG.

LSU wins

What I am saying long winded is that CEO has started the long road of winning over the fans. He already has his staff and his team now he just has to win baby!

LSU 41
Ole Miss 17

As a Tiger I rarely buy into the end of the world crap but with Les I was ready for a change. We now have CEO/Aranda/Canada - rough start but after 2 SEC wins man just put your head down and Geaux !

Tired of all the Bayou bashing of my State and this Head Coach. I don't give a shite about his 10 years ago whatever at Ole Miss. I care about right now and what he could do. I love his fire and passion ! I love that he loves Louisiana and LSU football. Just Beat Ole Miss and have some fun with winning a football game !

People seem to forget that it is, in fact, just a game. I personally think wins are more fun when there's nothing (SECCG/NCG) on the line. Just a good ole fashioned shite kicking.

Yep it is just a game and nothing more

It is also very young men playing a very physical game

Ole Miss vs LSU

Ole Miss can pass the ball but are limited on doing anything else. Bad day for Ole Miss facing Aranda D.
He will pressure the QB and force quick throws. Our young DB's are ready for some picks. I am calling 3 int's with one being a pick 6.

Everything Canada likes to do he can do with this Ole Miss D. I think we will see Myles throw a TD in this one but no doubt Danny is the QB this season for LSU.

O should never have been #3. #133 would have been a more appropriate ranking.

there you go

We are into our 7th game and what are you talking about?

CEO is the head coach - end of story - stop it

He wins and coaches the team up to play top level SEC football and recruits at a Top Level or he gets fired

People hated the hired stopped the season after the Troy loss - shame on you - the young men of the team didn't give up !!!

The young men that will go out against Ole Miss have not given up

Like I said - at least 70% of the fans did not like the hire - you can't throw out CEO for 2 bad games - can't do it

Judge him after the season and after the recruiting process

We beat Ole Miss / Arky / Tenn/ aTm / win our Bowl game are you really going to call this a awful season?

You don't say.

Why? You just admitted that it was time for the last one to go. Don't be a hypocrite.

Awful? No. But it would mean 2 SEC losses and an embarrassing loss at home to Troy (and let's not get ahead of ourselves counting these victories just yet). That's hardly an excellent result considering the volatility we put the program through to hire him.

The college football mentally challenged among us has been calling 10 wins seasons, nationally ranked seasons mediocre for yrs. What's changed?

Ummm no. Expecting wins v Troy and not getting beatdown by Moo
State does not make fans “spoiled”

Are you suggesting it’s asking too much to beat Troy at home?

Is it “spoiled” to expect as fans the AD do a proper search and hire a coach with a consistent record of success?

A “name” guy. No. But a proven loser? It’s hard to go 10-25 and 3-21 in Conf. That takes a special kind of incompetence.

Butch Jones is about to get fired for a much better record. Mark Richt was run out of UGA. This is the SEC, it’s not a training ground.

Do I want us to win every game? You bet your arse. But asking fans to accept that O was the 3rd best alternative for Alleva is ludicrous.

I don’t blame O. Not his fault. Joe was dumb enough to give him the keys.

But you don’t check your brain at the door. This structure is dysfunctional. You can have a HC that at the discretion of the AD cede power over the offense and defense to the Coordinators.

It’s insane. I hope it works and we win every single game but don’t think for a second O has “won” over the staff. They snicker behind his back that he has been neutered by Joe.

O is a likable guy. Almost everyone (not Canada) loves him. The players, fans, coaches do. But you are delusional if you think O is respected by his peers.

Everything you said ...but I don't like him. So it's me and Canada. Two of us. I'm okay with that.

He's a fraud. He's a politician.
He has a shady past and has done things that speak to the core of who he is as a man.

I don't like him and never will.

He has one job here at LSU -
Win more titles than his predecessor.
Win more games than his predecessor.
Build better rosters than his predecessor .
Beat Alabama.

Do all that for over a decade.

geez

we lost to MSU - I was shocked at how bad we looked

we lost to Troy - I was shocked at how bad we looked

--------------------------------------------------------

Are you really going to judge CEO for the season based on these 2 games. It was bad - when bad happens in life you go get drunk or you move on and make it better.

CEO did pull the team together after these 2 awful games and a win against Ole Miss moves us further away from those 2 games. Is Troy in the top 25 - no / Is MSU in the top 25 - no.

You didn't like the CEO hire and you use the loss to MSU and Troy to make your point. agree

This thread is about what does CEO have to do. No football fan is going to call for LSU beating Bama but that is next week but LSU is favored to win on the road in a SEC game with Ole Miss. Lets beat down Ole Miss something like 41 to 13 and then move on to Bama.

I have been told 1000 times on this site that CEO was a bad hire and we need to fire Joe for making the hire.

You can't tell me that CEO will fail but you can tell me that you think he will fail. Winning all but 1 of the remaining games and winning our Bowl game and finishing with a Top recruiting class will not be failing.

Winning cures everything. However he needs to show he knows what he is doing and that he has learned from his mistakes. The mere fact the AD had to call him in and basically tell him to let his OC and DC coach and to quit meddling is not a confidence inspiring move.

Right now the team is lucky to have two good coordinators to sort of make this work. However, in the long term, it just isn't sustainable IMO.

Yea, everyone is excited over the last two wins but there is a lot to concerned about. Right now LSU is a one half team. To win in the SEC you need to be a full game team.

Keep coming out like they did against Troy, Auburn and Florida in the 1st half against other teams, and eventually you are not going to have the mojo to rally past opponents or come within striking difference.

If LSU comes out against Ole Miss this weekend ready to play from the drop of the hat, then I'll start having more confidence in the coaching decisions. But if they come out looking lost on both sides of the ball again for the first half, then that shows me nothing has really changed.
