Looking at Manziel's performance against Bama makes me wonder whether we (or anyone else) can stop him. 562 yards (464 passing; 98 running)against a Sabin defense is just unbelievable.

He had a great game against Saban's defense last season...and nonetheless we stopped him.

Stop being scared.

To be fair... turnovers are what killed A&M last year. A&M had 2 fumbles and 3 interceptions.

And they still had 410 yards of offense and Manziel passed for 276 yards.

And that was when he was a freshman against an incredible defense.

I give credit to LSU for some of the turnovers, but if A&M would have taken care of the ball, it would have been much different.

I rarely make a negative comment to someone wanting to discuss a subject on this or any message board...after all, isn't that the purpose of message boards? Now, while I have no problem with the OP asking his question and seeking conversation about the subject matter, I have to say...

...this is some great advice!!!!

Im sure our O is good for more than 24pt this year. We spottem 12 last year, held them to 19. Guess it woulda been a better win if we let them hang 500+ yards on our D then won by 7.

Did you see some of those passes that were thrown tho ? They were 50 yard rainbows that should have been batted away or picked . I get that his stats showed he had a great game but a ton of that yardage was flat out poor arse coverage on bamas part

Like Geno Smith, JM will get his yards. The key is to keep them out of the end zone as much as possible.

Contain, not smother.

We also have to have long, sustained drives when we have the ball. Let them dive the ball to the red zone, kick an FG, then have our offense execute a long drive for a TD. Rinse, repeat, win.
